A separate chat channel for spirits - partyars - 04-09-2012 I've seen some spirits log on and start to spam/flame the ooc for no apparent reason (that's the problem as you work with a greylist). The best solution I can come up with is to make a separate channel for the spirits, and letting them chat only in that channel (but they should still be able to view the other channnels like OOC aswell). Regular players should also be able to view the spirit channel, but may also choose to leave said channel. allez, that's my idea on it. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - Crashlander04 - 04-09-2012 bumped 100% agreed RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - Ian25 - 04-09-2012 Agreed. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - guthriearmstrong - 04-09-2012 I disagree. If we just ignore the people screaming "PENIS" in the spirit channel, then they'll just get whitelisted and be able to scream "PENIS" in the OOC channel, all while having permissions to construct large dirt block phalluses. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - geckosquid - 04-09-2012 I disagree, but for different reasons. Many spirits want to ask questions to determine whether or not they want to join the server, so OOC access is important for that to work. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - iDieForEXP - 04-09-2012 Agree. With gecko. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - DjFuzz - 04-09-2012 Let's get yotta to create a /mute function, this would be used by mods and admins. If someone is flaming in a set chat a command can be used like /mute [Player] 10 mins ooc This could solve the problem as they can still ask questions but if they do Flame and spam immature text in the chat they can be muted but can still have the Pros the gray list offers RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - Ian25 - 04-09-2012 (04-09-2012, 12:09)DjFuzz Wrote: Let's get yotta to create a /mute function, this would be used by mods and admins. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - partyars - 04-09-2012 Yes, mute command would be better. this can also be helpful against players who are already whitelisted. RE: A separate chat channel for spirits - Crashlander04 - 04-09-2012 But then Ian would just ignore me all the time.. ![]() |
