RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - Android - 07-19-2011 I realize doggy, but 'an yottabyte', 'an yolk', 'an yoghurt'? I don't think so. Come on yotta, you couldn't catch that? My guess is that the word 'an' is the reason 'y' is only sometimes a vowel. And boom goes the dynamite. RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - yottabyte - 07-19-2011 In general, the Y is a consonant when the syllable already has a vowel. Also, the Y is considered a consonant when it is used in place of the soft J sound, such as in the name Yolanda or Yoda. In the names Bryan and Wyatt, the Y is a vowel, because it provides the only vowel sound for the first syllable of both names. For both of these names, the letter A is part of the second syllable, and therefore does not influence the nature of the Y. Eg. an RPG. RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - Android - 07-19-2011 Correct bowser, another example would be 'honor'. Yotta, copy pasta much? ![]() RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - Mr.Hatten - 07-19-2011 Hello there Stesch, my good sir and gentleman. I would like to join your nice and friendly town since I have heard some good things about Rivercrest from you so I hope it lives up to my expectations. My ingame name is as follows: Sallad3n. Thank you and good evening. RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - doggypwn - 07-20-2011 /trololololol initiate RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - Stesch - 07-21-2011 > ![]() Oh happy times. It seems like you have to pay gold to keep the town alive so: Please, any mods that would like to re-activate my town? All the people who signed on to be in the town are still here, eagerly waiting for the town to come back. I will just need to run back to town to deposit all my gold to make sure this doesn't happen again. (Also, may want to put the "10g a week" in the guide thingy, just a suggestion) RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - asdfasdflkjty911 - 07-21-2011 (07-19-2011, 04:20)Android Wrote: An accept.* No see, a true grammar Nazi would include 'y' and the reasons of y and how it would be used. Silly android.. RE: Town Application: Rivercrest - Android - 07-21-2011 Well then, I'm just a grammar Android, omitting the useless. |
