This is the speed formula for those wanting it.
speed = 60+(Math.round(blockCount/10))
The speed is in ticks. One second is normally 20 ticks.
I know, everyone wants faster ships. Blame Notch.

Lol same it's fun but only good for war and SAFE exploration. And selling stuff. Walking is indeed faster, but flying is more fun.

This was already (somewhat) possible with retractable bidges, you simply aim in a direction, and stand on it without a receiving end. Yes, I know these are controllable, but as one way flight, those were very similar as well
