RE: Moderation in moderation? - Sir Prize - 08-24-2011 I think that most of the time Kyga bans the people that needs to be banned. But as he himself pointed out, he shouldn't argue back. No, moderation should not be moderated, the moderators should be moderated. I agree that some rules need to be clarified, the griefing rule for example. But most of these 1-2 temp day bans are because someone said something innapropriate, and deserved to be kicked. But some moderators take it too far, and instead of just kicking immediately, and don't give in to group pressure, continue arguing with the person in question, thus dragging others in as well. I definitely also think a mute option should be made available, because most of the bans I've seen have been for verbal offence, and not anything else. Thus a mute option would be much more preferable, it would enable the player to continue playing, thinking through their actions, and cooling down, while not leaving the server in the process. I think the addition of a mute option would be wonderful! RE: Moderation in moderation? - pavja2 - 08-24-2011 (08-24-2011, 02:03)Cell Wrote: Read the post from when I left. There is nothing wrong with kyga specifically, he is active and follows the rules about what a moderator should be / do. I just think that a minor revising of those rules would make everyone happier. RE: Moderation in moderation? - RobertF - 08-24-2011 No.No.No. Don't talk bad about one of my favoUrite Canadians. thats right, Kyga would spell it with a u as well. suck it. I didn't say anything bad about Kyga ![]() I even said I didn't want to get into this conversation, its and endless loop from which someone always looses. I have nothing against Kyga, nor is this a thread about him. But as you can see, From once remark, I get called out, hence the whole "Not going into the whole Kyga thing.". RE: Moderation in moderation? - Cerce - 08-24-2011 I WOULD LIKE TO POIINT OUT THAT MY BAN WAS DONE WITH GOOD REASON AND WAS JUST AND FAIR (if not even a little unjust - I TNT'd a town's outpost, reguardless of how accidental it was or how many creepers were involved). I came to SirSuba and told him of my griefing, and asked that he punish me as he owuld anyone else. I knew what I did was wrong and no better than The_Gra- I mean Nova's own actions. He gave me a six hour ban at 2 in the morning. If that's not moderate moderation, I don't know what is. Do note that SirSuba is also on the opposite side of me in the Novan war. However, I do think that Kyga is giving a bit too much and too many. He asked if I wanted to propose a ban of Kbrown for griefing two glass blocks. Granted, those two glass blocks allowed three breakins and possibly the theft of a Kiwiship, but that is besides the point. You don't ban for two missing glass blocks. You ban if all the glass in the Castle was broken, or if someone TNT'd a corner of it. Just my thought and input on the subject. And Pavja is blowing my ban out of proportion. Just because I'm one of about four people that roleplays continously on here does not mean that I don't do wrong or decide to be an ass sometimes. What I did was wrong (even if it felt good xD) and deserved punishment, in my honest opinion. RE: Moderation in moderation? - tristo999 - 08-24-2011 I have been put into this and i have to say I have a long story to tell but no where to put it. If you see that has been posted in global When i am writing this i see who the people kyga bans are. And i would of done it alot harder. End of story RE: Moderation in moderation? - asdfasdflkjty911 - 08-24-2011 (08-24-2011, 02:13)Kyga Wrote:(08-24-2011, 02:09)Cell Wrote:(08-24-2011, 02:07)Kyga Wrote: Cell your not even part of our server, no one wants to hear your garbage. In my opinion this is some of what moderators need to stop doing. Whether they like the person or not they shouldn't handle this the way it was handled. New players do read the threads accasionaly, and this isnt a very nice sight. Its like the old saying, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all. As to the Mute option in OOC, that is a terribly bad idea. Why you ask? Think about it, you may mute some one for one thing, forgetting about it and then seeing a whole conversation going on without realizing that he was the person you muted that was effecting the conversation greatly. Especially if you play a lot, you might tend to mute a bunch of people over time and forget who you muted, making chat in OOC seem obscured, and random. Also, if it ever were added (Since I know this will always come up and I probably wont be listened to.) mods shouldn't be allowed to mute people just because they need to see everything, whos doing what, ext. RE: Moderation in moderation? - StayPuff - 08-24-2011 All I really think is moderators should do there job, not argue, and move on to playing the game. There's no need to drag on a ban conversation and drag more people into it, just get it done and over with, move on with your minecraft life, and that's it. RE: Moderation in moderation? - DARK_DUSK - 08-24-2011 It's called F1 ppl that mutes all messages UR all dum. |
