I really just want a new map in all :/ I don't find the idea of the same map without man made blocks fun at all. I want to be able to explore the new lands, find abandoned mineshafts and fortresses, I ant to find new land to create a kingdom, not find some that once harbored another empire. I want

What I think we should do is have another world, like with the pluggins. Normaly you would type in a command or something like that to get to that world, but in this case you could maybe make it something like a giant blimp or airship in Mavenholm, and then use it as a gateway. Of course there would be a type of transportation like the nether execpt you just go to that new world, but it would still be a lot better than /world 2.
I think this could work pretty well if some of the RP leaders got together, and wrote a story line to the leaving of Kiwike 2.0, had yotta and android go through Mavenholm and make some more changes to fit that (Say the undead armies came back, they were attacking everywhere so everyone left to a new land (new map). The admins could go through and change things like make mavenholm look a little bit more war torn around the walls. Not the inner city, but the walls, towers, and add small walls and smaller towers/ruins of towers around the city to add more of a war type feeling).
The main thing is that people dont need to worry about losing their items, gold, and projects. You could go back and forth between the new and old lands. Some people may stay in 2.0, but over time Im sure most will move to the new Kiwike, what ever it may be called.

Your just going to keep falling behind in maps if you think about it.
They keep adding things slowly, making your previous map obsolete.
The best thing to do is for Yotta and Android to decide on a way to get the features of 1.8/1.9 on the map, however they decide to do it. Once the full release is out, the make a new map, on that can stay for longer without any major problems.

I think the best time for a totally new map is 2.0. They will probably stop changing the way things are generated by then and the updates will be items and mobs from then on, hopefully. I still think that having a new map while having this map now accessible is a good way to go, that way we dont lose people who arnt as dedicated, and also so everyone doesn't have to completely restart, and they can go when their ready.
