My rig was a budget high-end computer when I bought it. I've only needed to upgrade graphics and RAM in the 6 years I've had it.
And, it maxes Crysis and Crysis 2 lag free.

My PC hasn't really been falling behind that much but BF3 kinda killed it a bit.
Again, Moore's Law. PC specs will change more in the coming 6 years than in the past 6 years.

The PC cost me about 8000kr. Which is 800euro. Which is about 1200$.

I run Minecraft on 10-15 fps, don't complain Yotta.

Wait what. Alright. It must have been upgraded somewhere along the way. I know I bought the damn computer 6 years ago. And I only remember upgrading GPU and RAM.
By the way, 2007. Phenom II was released 2008.
Edit: Oh right. Now I remember, I did upgrade CPU and motherboard somewhere along the way. Stooped memory.
