I saw this and thought: separate battleground for kiwiship battles? Like a select area where firespread is enabled? Perhaps world edit towns in for some scenery?

Because you'd need a balloon/sails that are more than 40% of the ship.

that would be really fun
it could be in an arena and there would be like 2-4 teams. Each team could have a few chests full of supplies and stuff for building kiwiships. Then each team builds one and the last team standing goes home with a bunch of gold and items :3

Oh, I'm pretty sure any stone won't work on a kiwiship. I had some stone on the bottom of mine, and when we took off, it fell. And since this post is recommendations for kiwiships, ima add one. Can they move any faster? I realize that they add lots of lag to the server, but .11 meters every second is kinda slow.

not without lag although I beleive I heard someone sat that zepplin created equal or lesser lag.

Kiwiships can have stone, I believe. And yeah, they really need to speed up

Oh, and idk if I like the arena idea, I was hoping for more of an open world type thing. It opens up the possibility of piracy, and enables kiwiships to play a more active role in warfare.

Smaller ships move much faster than larger ones. There's not really much we can do about the speed. It's simply too heavy on the server to remove and place blocks, make lighting updates etc. at a higher speeds.
Use a booster engine if you wish to move double the speed.
