Are you kidding me? Every town would be in ruins within a week.

Dude, I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just saying that this is a definition of the traditional form of raiding. If Kiwike differs from it, a different definition should be proposed.

The purpose of a raid is to CAUSE GRIEF TO ENEMY CITIZENS. We need looser rules.

But, it has to be done without ruining the fun

I personally think raiding how it is now is fine (minus the bed breaking part, that should be 100% bananable).

Cerce, you haven't been on either side of a raid yet, I really don't see why you want to be able to grief. Damage to nations (not real nations, I know) is already done through loss of crops (through that amended rule), loss of resources and valuables, and death to citizens or military. For simple raids, and not full scale war, it just doesn't make sense to do block damage that doesn't need to be done. The rules so far are very balanced for such things, and the effects of which are really only decided by the numbers, skill, and equipment on each side of a conflict.

Nothing needs to change for this outside of the war plugin.

I'm not at all experience with raids on minecraft, but can raiders just go it, do their bit of raiding, and then leave to give the town a certain amount of time to recover? I'm not sure if its happening with all raids but the raiders seem to either hang around the town for hours, or come back multiple times within a single day.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, raiders wouldn't go back to settlements that they just raided within a short period of time after stripping it off their supplies

I agree, but sometimes you can spend hours looking for hidden chests XD Raids do vary in length, but you shouldn't be occupying a whole town (unless officially doing so).

Oh, sorry, I should have quoted guthrie; I was responding to him saying that the things on your list should be legalized.

This is true Saera however, one of the biggest rewards in raids are killing people for their supplies. Once a raid party leaves a town the town citizens go into their secret hidden chest in the middle of nowhere and get all their yummy diamond and iron for defence in fear of a secondary attack. Once we have given them a reasonable amount of time to restock their inventories(Which isnt to long might I add) we return to collect their valubles. We offen repeat this method untill the town is poor.

RE: A discussion on raiding - Crazylol5 - 04-23-2012

All of the things discussed in this thread are not really a problem by the server itself, as you know most of the world is formed by the community itself and the rules really do not limit the raiding that is going on now, either simple raiders who don't work for a town or a nation and just raid for their supplies, or nations that don't really fight for the destruction of the other nation, but mostly for the spoils of war. There hasn't been tactical warfare that needs the actual definition of raiding to be used, there's no need for anyone to cut down someone's supplies, because that would eventually stop the Natoon or town from getting supplies, the only reason why anyone raids really. (With exception of the Northern Aliance, which fights against Coras because he is as they claim a bad leader, but still,) tactical warfare will not be used until there will be more to gain than supplies or simply the death of a king.

Age 2, of course, will enable nations to claim each others territory, but the tactical warfare part will be controlled by the war plugin when that time comes.

Hence why the server shall have numerous ruins and abandoned towns.

This is not a frackin PVP server pwol.
