Just going to throw this out there; Starcraft one marines are not too similar to 40k marines. Starcraft marines are a lot more.. "realistic" in that they are much smaller, and less bulky (both space marines will never be made, at least as they are shown. If you tried to get inside that, your arm would be pulled out of the socket). Starcraft zerg on the other hand don't represent Aliens at all. They're brown, insect/snake like creatures that do everything one giant eyeball-brain thing says. I mean, saying they didnt get any inspiration from them might not be true, but they certainly don't represent an Alien at all. Only one shoots acid, its a black roach-like bug with 6 legs and scythe's on its back. The fastest zerg is a half dog/half cockroach... thing... that runs around and two scythe type arms to attack. Flying units shit on you or shoot its babies, other ground units throw eggs on you or either shoot its bones or stomp on you, oh or explode.
