Agreed - you won't have players on your server if you keep banning them. Hmm? the same player on two different accounts, talking to himself. Concerned Citizen isn't Crash... RE: Ban Appeal (Hear me out) - MainDigger - 09-17-2012 Two things. 1. The identity of Concerned Citizen is not related to the ban appeal. 2. Anyone not related to the ban appeal, please refrain from posting in the thread. This logic is 100% sound. Yep. How did you know? I am so embarrassed. #detectiveDJ RE: Ban Appeal (Hear me out) - bvcxzmn - 09-18-2012 (09-18-2012, 00:16)Crashlander04 Wrote:(09-17-2012, 20:15)DjFuzz Wrote:(09-17-2012, 19:50)ConcernedCitizen Wrote:(09-17-2012, 03:00)Crashlander04 Wrote: I'm telling ya, that Save Ian Act was good shit - forgive and forget. We need fewer bans, less restrictive RP rules, more of the pre-revamped playerbase and a complete restart if this server is going to last through the end of the year. You all laughed at me / told me off then, but it is still relevant and I hate to say 'told you so' but... Now, back to Chipmonk... I have mixed feelings. If anybody honestly thinks this is me, they need to smack their head against a wall a few more times. Simply not banning people doesn't solve anything - situations simply need to be resolved and moderated (what a verb, eh?) instead of the constant yearn for punishment of every rule-breakage everybody seems to feel. I do not want less restricted RP rules - if anything I want higher quality RP. Also, I don't say 'I told you so'. I say 'I'm telling you'. RE: Ban Appeal (Hear me out) - Mr.Vanilla Milkshake - 09-18-2012 Oddly enough we all came from a whitelisted server long ago and this exact same thing happened. The members started going down, but the server shut down due to money and lack of interest really. I know whitelists do create more dedicated members, but non whitelist servers usually have a constant income of new members. Enforcing things such as griefing wouldn't be a problem, and in fact there is a really nice faction plug in that would make warring and land claiming much more efficient, if it is wanted I could find it. However I am not entirely sure how one would enforce RP without registration. The advantage would be of course less metagaming, as one would have to develop a character in game as oppose to posting it on a forum for all eyes to see. I know it seems odd to take the advice "remove the whitelist" from someone who griefed the server not too long ago but I honestly think, with proper moderation and control, it could work out really nicely. Maybe others have different experiences but I personally have had bad experiences with whitelisted servers. But I digress, this thread is about a ban appeal and I am just derailing this further. |
