Surely, someone would only bedrock above a chest if they also had a hack to break it again? Or if it wasn't their chest, then that is instead griefing in the extreme!

So what crash? This is the most bullshit excuse I've ever heard. His brother did it. No. He fucking did it. It's obvious as heck that he did it , Along with finding these emerald blocks we found a shit ton of Chainmail armour - Which is only gettable through an insane amount of trade with testificates. Therefore he 'must' of known about this and further went and abused it.
When i say a shit ton - I meant a SHIT ton.

Bro , don't lie gingerton. It was a freaking well built base with a network of minecart rails. This was your 'PROPER' base. Not some chest hidden under dirt. And also , don't divert from the point. How did you have so much traded goods if the emeralds were recently duped.

I didn't get traded goods because I was not playing to get them and there is no way you could have found my potion room without some kind of "help" no one would dig up 4 totally random blocks in hillside it just doesn't happen.

I'm not changing the subject it just strange how you found a totally sealed up base that no one would ever find unless they dug up about 500 blocks and destroyed the landscape. And as for chain armor to my knowledge I don't have any.
