Edit: Right, I have decided on Cell's idea of different Minecraft blocks.
Now I need ideas. Dirt should be the normal, second log, third wood, forth coal ore? We need number of posts though.
0 - Dirt
5 - Log
10 - Wood
25 - Cobblestone
50 - Coal ore
100 - Iron ore
200 - Gold ore
300 - Redstone ore
400 - Diamond ore
500 - Obsidian
1000 - Bedrock

I was thinking of making it like the stages in Minecraft. Punch dirt, punch log, make wood, mine stone, mine coal and so on.
