Lol, If it did work, i get it now. So in all the coding you would have to have the Id in it... sounds complicated. But also, where would you buy locks, from Maven, or just a command?

The latter question has been stated before, and I'm pretty sure it would *probably* end up either being a special command you pay for from what I see. Otherwise it would be mavenholm by far.

IDs aren't complicated, in fact you would need IDs to separate the chests from one another. I still don't know how to do the locks, if it's a non-existing thing that you buy from a NPC or something else.

I personally hate commands, that's why we have banker NPCs for example. It's much more fun actually interacting with the environment than using commands IMO.

This sounds overall like an amazing idea and something that we should do, though the semi-locked thing could be adjusted a bit.

Not to be a necromancer or anything but this struck me as a brilliant idea when it was first announced and I was wondering if its still being considered for future Kiwikean chests.

This has not been dropped. No worries.

Ill state my question again then.
Will placing blocks on top of a chest be illegal now?

RE: Locks and lockpicks - Crashlander04 - 12-03-2011

I don't know if this is still a current topic, but I was kicked here by Hoiafar from my chest protection thread.

I am against lockpicks as all it takes is a way to get into somebody's house to steal everything the own.

Also, I don't think anybody would want to pay for a lock just to have it pickable when they are away for a while and need the protection the most.

I suggest either a lock/unlock command for residents.

RE: Locks and lockpicks - Sir Prize - 12-03-2011

I do believe placing blocks on top of chests will be illegal. Otherwise there wouldn't be a point to locks and lockpicks.

Also, 20 or so minutes after logging out, chests will be made unpickable. So you won't have to worry about having your stuff stolen while you are offline.
