RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - Natain - 11-19-2011 You dont have time in one lifetime to play both oblivion AND Skyrim sonny, you are just gona have to focus on skyrim >:[ RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - Sir Prize - 11-19-2011 Oh yes you do. And Oblivion is nothing compared to Skyrim, honestly I didn't even like Oblivion that much. Morrowind is still the best, then Skyrim and last Oblivion. RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - Cell - 11-19-2011 A good friend from school is going to let me borrow Skyrim for a weekend to test it out. ![]() RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - geckosquid - 11-20-2011 (11-19-2011, 14:57)Sir Prize Wrote: Yeah I agree, but Oblivion was pretty fucking boring. Morrowind is still the best, then Skyrim and last Oblivion.Wait. We have a serious problem here. You thought that Morrowind was better than Skyrim? You mean the game with the interface windows that had to be dragged around the screen, the overcomplicated leveling/stat system, the general lack of voice acting, and a very slow beginning with almost no quests? I'm all for older games that are actually fun, but that game bored me out of my mind. I would actually rather do homework than play that game. Oh, did I forget to mention the luck-based combat? Ugh. So damn unsatisying. And then the bland environments and minimal amounts of NPC's... I could go on and on about why I hate Morrowind. RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - yottabyte - 11-20-2011 The skyrim interface could be improved, too... RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - Sir Prize - 11-20-2011 Everything you just brought up could be said about every Bethesda game ever, sadly enough. Skyrim is the first to mortgage either bland nor repetitive enviroment. But yes, I do like Morrowind more. Because it actually offered intellectual challenges. The quests didn't have arrows pointing towards them, you had to read instructions on how to get there, take a wrong turn a few times and then find it. It was much more satisfying. While Skyrim is indeed a great game and I think I have already logged over 40 hours on it, it is just way too casual. And not to talk about the quest lines being incredibly short and non rewarding. RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - yottabyte - 11-20-2011 Old games are harder. Just look at games like Super mario bros RE: My current dilemna with skyrim - geckosquid - 11-20-2011 First thing: Yotta, comparing Morrowind and Skyrim's interfaces is like comparing Plan 9 from Outer Space and Alien. I agree that Skyrim's could definitely be better, but Morrowind's was utter crap. Second thing: I completely agree from a hardcore-ness standpoint, Hoi. But Morrowind wasn't a living, breathing world, and Skyrim is. That makes all the difference, I think. Besides, besides everything else, the combat really turned me off. It really took no skill whatsoever, something that was remedied in Oblivion. Also, Skyrim does not have luck-based combat, a slow beginning, or a lack of NPC's. |
