I once lost an entire weekend to the game (well that and a massive nostalgia trip with early 2000's disney movies). No matter what I always die due to starvation... I really wish the dwarves would just continue planting said crop forever instead of stopping when the next season come....

ok, squiggley, what you do is set the farms to plant plump helmets all year. (by the way, in case you haven't seen it, there are hotkeys on the farms relating to the seasons so you can plan for the next one) Then, to get more food, prepare easy meals or up in the kitchen, seeing as I think 1-3 pieces of food such as meats, drinks, plants, etc. will create something like 3-5 prepared meals. Really helps combat starvation.

I had 130 dwarfs die to a goblin invasion and a unexpected visitor within secounds.

I finally managed to fend of a goblin siege!(woot!) they had a ton of good armor and weapons all of which i took and am now using to make an even stronger military
