RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - bvcxzmn - 11-29-2012 Because the idea is to make it somewhat localized, in addition to not being possible to be used as storage (we are planning to make it so you can't withdraw from this, new system similar to your idea). The competition will be between people trying to sell to other people that live with or near them, therefore creating a more interesting and dynamic economy somewhat similar to what we had in revamped. For example, I recall that in some parts of the map on revamped, slime balls cost up to as much as a diamond, but in other parts people were selling stacks of slime balls for much less than a diamond. I don't expect something as drastic as that to happen again, in part because that bug has been fixed, but it made the economy more interesting. We will not make a global economy, we will simply make a more localized economy that solves many of the problems we have had in the past, including using shops as storage, and other things that I can't think of off the top of my head, it will be better than any explicitly global economy. RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - sethd13 - 11-29-2012 Why don't we just have a command that shows the average price for every item? RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - iDieForEXP - 12-05-2012 I sugested that a while ago. +1 for Seth RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - Gira - 12-06-2012 (11-29-2012, 08:19)bvcxzmn Wrote: Because the idea is to make it somewhat localized, in addition to not being possible to be used as storage (we are planning to make it so you can't withdraw from this, new system similar to your idea). Cause Kiwike : Revamped's market system was "dynamic" ![]() RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - iDieForEXP - 12-06-2012 I think for a survival server, a worldwide server economy would be best. By typing a command, you can sell x amount of y to the server, or vice versa, you can buy x amount of y to be added to your inventory. No player shops. The server would act as a middleman to all business, it has infinite money and items, players just have to sell to get money to buy better things. The only place that I can see chestshops working well is on a roleplay server. RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - sethd13 - 12-06-2012 Only problam I can see is people stealing EVERYTHING just to sell it to the server, being able to clear out entire bases with just /t sell <random bullshit> RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - Gira - 12-06-2012 That's why we have to have a PLAYER driven worldwide economy.. Server economy is bad for many reasons. RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - iDieForEXP - 12-06-2012 Ok. Make me a list of why. RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - Gira - 12-06-2012 Ok listen right - A server economy where the server has the items is biased in a way that the prices are decided and i'm sure they'll be conflict on how much prices for a certain thing should be , it's much easier to let the actual playerbase decide by competing with themselves. -A server economy defeats the point of a interactive , dynamic economy as it doesn't give players the freedom to input resources and buy and sell as they please. This in turn could potentially eliminate a lot of activity. - The concept of it is pretty stupid , why place a cheap economy which has lots of flaws when you can make a more fleshed out and solid one which will surely attract more people knowing that the economy is player - based (Which is rare) RE: Strategic Economy - Poll / Suggestion - yottabyte - 12-07-2012 (12-06-2012, 22:09)iDieForEXP Wrote: Ok. Make me a list of why. I see you're American. The choice here is between Communism (server driven economy) or Capitalism (player driven). Now make your choice. ![]() |
