(Also, when I referred to Elva being fixed, i meant when she was to gain control of her powers by having an, err, on off switch so to say. He left her the powers, but gave her the option to sorta turn it off at times, atleast from what I can remember. Haven't read the books since I finished Inheritance after the week it came out.)

Granted, you don't have to go to school on the day scholarships are given out. You were going to recover a full ride to college, but they gave it to someone else in your stead.
