Herobrine would be a great addition, but I think Notch's reasoning us that it would be difficult to have multiple mobs named Herobrine, as that just wouldn't really work, therefore making it a rather insignificant addition to the game. With Endermen or whatever their new name is, however, an entire new game mechanic will be put in place.

Notch is a troll, don't believe him about Herobrine. He's removed him in like 12 patches when he said he did the previous patch.

Dunno if anyone's said this already, but here's the whole, nearly official story on them.
They walk around at night completely peaceful. If you look at them by placing your crosshairs on their face, they'll stare back at you. They keep staring until you move your cross hairs off of them. Then they dash towards to you and do whatever they do to attack.
They can't break or dig blocks, but they can move them around. Probably only weaker ones though.
I'm not sure if daylight kills them but I'm guessing it does.

it was a myth involving a metal door reskin o.o
he never existed and notch just put that there as a joke
