RE: Vote of Non-Confidence - Android - 09-25-2012

(09-22-2012, 05:03)Android Wrote: I can't say I know where such accusations and wishes are coming from, especially after such a productive community meeting and the subsequent result being the work towards gecko's plans of action. If anything, I feel I've been much more accepting of change now than I have been in the past, so depending on where these rumors concerning me 'vetoing' and prohibiting change come from, I'm not entirely sure they can be called upon as legitimate.

That said, yotta does plenty of work and on the slow days, I am usually the one to get things going, as Cerce so kindly mentioned.

I hope I can change the mind of those who voted 'yes' and confirm the faith those who voted 'no' have in me. If the way I'm doing things is wrong, know that I am apt to change.

Above is my first response to this thread, and I am reposting it for those of you who didn't catch a glimpse. Furthermore, and more to the point, it's been a long while and the vote seems to be leaning in my favor. I've already stated that I'm apt to change so please take that into consideration, Crash.

You say that "the community has greatly lost confidence in his ability to fulfill his job" but the vote provided before us says otherwise, even if by a smaller margin. Of course I won't go locking this thread because that'd be utterly hypocritical of me in a time like this, but I will seek for the end of the vote through my previous pleas.

Fair point. I was stating it from the perspective of people who had been attempting, for the latest part of Revamped, to keep playing on the server. Of course there is support from members of the community who are far more inactive than the staff.

If you are so apt to change, why simply end discussions and whole suggestions which the majority has voted for? You, as stated above, claim to cater to the will of the majority, you must admit.

However, if you are honestly apt to change, I would expect some direct action to be taken. I would be perfectly happy to have you stay an admin if you were actively working towards fixing the problems at hand along with us.

Hate to say this here, and now.

But if you are so apt for change, Why.The.Fuck.Has.Nothing.Happened.

I'm not targeting you in specific Android, i'm also pointing at Yottabyte. The community told you what needed to happen, and you stuck an RP server on Gecko. That is the only thing that has happened, and that is almost solely on his head.

Where is all the change, if you are so adamant on saving the server? Why put it off, why wait? You loose more, and more hope from the remaining players as you wait, and wait.

Nuff' Said.

(Side note. Typed this before I read Crashes post. Two great minds think alike, amirite?)

I was actually talking with Yotta about this exact topic on Skype over the weekend, and I basically came to the conclusion that, at least with Revamped, the more violence, the more activity. I can't speak for Yotta as far as this conclusion goes, as we started talking about something like bitcoins or some other random topic soon after I had that realization, but I now believe the key to increasing activity on revamped is increasing the violence on the server. I realized that a major part to why the server has practically gone inactive as soon as Age II was released is because Age II is too peaceful for everyone. And after I looked at it all, Age III would really be the saver for the server, if it can survive for that long. When, and dare I say if, age III comes out, there are going to be people who want to conquer, and people who want to keep their land. Right now no one has any reason to get on because there is nothing to do. I, for one, still care about my nation and what happens on this server, but if there is nothing for me to do when I go online, then I really don't go online much at all. If, as soon as age III came out, someone started to try to conquer my land, I would have a reason to get on, and would be on much more often in order to protect my nation. If that lies true with other people, then as soon as Age III comes out and war is started (which I would expect would happen the instant age III is released), then the server would very quickly become more active. My conclusion is that the only thing this server really needs is war, and Age III to support that war, to keep the server active.

Nothing is happening to Revamped because we still haven't decided what to do with it. The community told us what needs to happen? Yeah, I'm sure unbanning Solitude and getting rid of all the staff will fix all the problems.

sel pls

When did anybody ever say to eliminate all the staff without proper replacement?

Also, we could use a bit of Terinon to liven up our teamspeak.

Or, people could just get in it without 'a bit of Terinon'. It seems like a more reasonable approach to this.
