Tension out West - RobertF - 08-09-2011
After the fall of The_Grand, due to various reasons, a new town was created by me, RobertF. Called Nova, it was to be a peaceful and completely neutral town that would consist of a massive mansion out West. All went well, the mansion under construction, when we learnt of the whereabouts of a new nation only a few hundred paces from our mansion. After learning of each others presence, we quickly came to peace terms and kept our separate ways.
Then gas was discovered in the world of Kiwike. This lighter than air gas permitted the creation of airships, to aid man's dream. Flying. The residents of Nova, equally excited about airships as anyone else was, created a few models, some fast, some gigantic, simply for the purpose of enjoyment. NLewis and I decided of what better way to celebrate than to visit close towns, the closest being Azure. This was rather convenient due to the speed of the airships, so we constructed one, and took off. Two people, one diamond sword, placed carefully in an inaccessible pocket. Remember that.
Approaching Azure, we witnessed residents toiling over work, building houses, doing chores. We asked the town assistant, Riskae, for permission to enter Azure airspace, and to land. After his approval, we decided upon a location to dock our ship, with Riskae building a short dock to accomodate us. Stepping off onto Azure soil however, we were both killed, our blood in the hands of Riskae.
This was absurd! Nova, the new, peaceful town, killed by a friendly nation?! A pathetic excuse, that this was an armed attack. Remember, two people, one sword, placed in an inaccessible pocket.
Thus led to a series of attacks, and counter attacks, to retrieve what was ours, all the while, the King, Bowser, claiming we were at peace. The evening brought calm with it, and a false sense of security. For drifting through the clouds, we saw an airship, bearing the markings of Azure, the friendly nation who was committing murder against a peaceful town.
News of this attack spread across Kiwike. Spreading like wildfire, the tensions in the west grew support on both sides of the argument. Some siding for friendship, some for truth.
And now Kiwike, to those who have not heard of this account, I ask you. Who do you believe has the right-of-way in this conflict. Due to the rising tensions, we cannot deny a threat of war, one not wanted by either side, yet possibly necessary in its own right. And on the off-chance that a spark of war ignites, which side would you be willing to defend. You can trust me, your confidentiality in the vote will be guaranteed.

I came to speak my mind, not to vote.
In the case of Bowser saying that you were peaceful and Riskae attacking you after landing in the town, after gaining permission, I would say the attack was unprovoked and uncalled for. Other then your past in The_Grand, there would be no reason to attack you. I can understand people still being angry after The Grand War, but still. There was no reason to attack at that time so he was in the wrong. He shouldn't have attacked or lied to you.
Hopefully everything will settle down between you two and there will be no war. I think I speak for the majority of Kiwike when I say that we need some peace and quite for a long while.

You have a nack for starting wars eh? But sorry robert I live in helvanthar, and after the war we don't really like to trust the old grandees, plus I have an account that lives in Midgar and bowser is a client of ours and we would all have to back him up

We have not started a war, nor do we wish to have one. To be very clear, both sides oppose war, however this conflict has reached such tensions that may make it necessary. Also, when Nova was created, we made it extremely clear that it was to be a peaceful town, with no grudges against anyone, a completely clean slate. The slate which was spit on by Azure today.

I would side with no one, simply because I don't know enough.
But from what I've heard, it was an unprovoked attack, and I'm on your side, regardless of your past you have shown willingness to change, and should therefore be given a chance. Hate is a childish notion.

Being a member of the nation of helvanthar, I must say I support you here, but do not want to be involved through anything but supplies if war breaks out. News does not spread quickly to my part of the world of kiwike, seeing as my town has few visitors, so this is completely new to me. I must say though that this is completely uncalled for on the part of Azure, and that riskae is not being very trustworthy here. From the looks of it, he is commiting a direct act against residents of helvanthar and thus requires some response to his action from the helvan "congress."

I thank you for your post, however, although neutral, Nova is not a town under the Helvan rule.

I must say, Robert, I'm impressed. Not only have you shown a willingness to change, but you have now finally tasted the outrage of being killed without provocation. I'm not going to take sides, but I would like to voice the fact that war will only lead to more hate, something that has only just finally come to rest somewhere where it hopefully will not be reawakened. All poetic analogies aside, war is usually a bad thing, and "usually" is often enough to convince me that there's no reason to even consider it. I'm sure that this act of aggression can be sorted out diplomatically without resulting in further conflict.
