Re-settling - Graft - 01-10-2011

So because Droidopolis was burned & partially destroyed Android decided to resettle. I suggest we move underground, hide the entrance and don't come out. This way we're sure we wont be found by griefers.

So, what do we do inderground?
Well theres the basic needs:
Tree farm
Animal farm (just a large grassy area)
Mines
Crop farm
Mob farm (lot of work, lower on the list)

And the fun stuff to make:
Large open caverns, fully lit and filled with grass (looks really nice!)
A City cavern, probably a large 8-10-?? wide room, as long as we want with housing in the walls. Also 20-40 high.

At what layer should we make it?
As you know its 64 blocks from the surface to bedrock. Lava is most abundant at lvl 10 and diamond stops around layer 16, so layer 11-12 would be ideal to use as a floor. For aesthetic purposes a ceiling height at (at least) lvl 30 is recommended.

So you die, what now?
You respawn, look around for other players and move towards the general direction of the city, try not to walk directly to it when seen by unknown people. Once you make sure you're not followed you can walk to the city, but it is advised to recheck for followers every so often.

Strict rules that should be met:
No leaving signs, torches or out of place blocks within a viewing distance (by that I mean the render distance) of the concealed city entrance.

No talking about anything even remotely hinting the location.

No inviting players to the city without permission of Android, or any current leader of the City.

No mining within 10 blocks of the surface, also caves dug into that lead to the surface should be closed off with smoothstone.

PROPERLY torch all areas you dig.

Thanks for reading and voting YES for the awesome plan Wink

Very nice! And just for the record, these plans are only for the vanilla server we are on right now. When the grief protection of the actual map starts, we will settle normally.

Of course!

Re: Re-settling - Graft - 01-10-2011

We should build a central cavern from which people can branch out and build their own if they want.

Re: Re-settling - Android - 01-10-2011

As of now, we kind of have a main room with all the grass. From there, there is a hallway branching off for houses. We can branch off in a lot of directions but mining is going to be difficult. We need to make some rules or mines are gonna run into each other a ton.

I don't really like building underground. You will never see the real beaty of the city Sad

Re: Re-settling - Android - 01-10-2011

This doesn't relate to the actual map, so don't worry. I'm afraid we were forced underground by ruthless grievers. Besides, being hidden is pretty cool.

Re: Re-settling - doggypwn - 01-11-2011

I'm only putting out this post because A: people are saying I'm not part of droidopolis  [>Sad] and not showing me the way to the new city. B: My last sentence of which saying nobody will take me. I would enjoy to be in the city and help but people aren't allowing it.

Re: Re-settling - Android - 01-11-2011

Very sorry doggy! I gave them specific instructions to not lead non members of the citizens list, I'll add you now.
