So, here's a huge new change to the economy... In 1.9, Zombie Pigmen will drop gold nuggets. 9 gold nuggets can be crafted into an ingot. You'd have to be quite the fighter to make a living doing this, but it's something!

They go in like 5 -10 packs, so 1 gold on a pack max. If you ask me thats good.
And you could make a gold farming machine for the first time. So thats the negative side.

Yeah, use pigmens, or if there's a bug, try making a snow golem herding device in the nether!
Oh yeah, there's snow golems. Look em up.
