Oranges44's Ban Appeal (2) - oranges44 - 05-01-2012
I got banned for one week for "Raiding Without Permission". Here is my side of the story : I was getting ready to raid bowser at my base, so I ask the mods, as usual, if I could get permission. I asked 4 of the mods online and one told me to contact Saera and Yotta. Please note, Saera is bias in this case because she is part of the town we once raided. So I go and ask Partyars instead and he responds with something along the lines of "That seems ok, I'll ask Mod Chat". I know this is no excuse, but I have a very mild case of dyslexia which causes me to not read things entirely properly, so I read this as an O.K. to raid. When I arrived there, bowser suddenly attacks me and I fight back and kill him. He was the only one killed, and nothing was stolen in the town other than the valuables he had on him. I then proceed to walk back home to store away the valuables. When I got home, Saera shows up looking for answers on why I killed Bowser. I tell her it was because I got permission from Party. She says he said he would ask admin chat, and I was not given permission. I say I was there, but only killed bowser. I then try and reason with her, but after around 5 minutes of complete silence from Saera, she bans me.
I know what I did was wrong, but It is for the reasons listed above. If you want my RP reason, I can give it to you. But I think this system of only having the Southern Alliance Members ask permission to raid, meanwhile we are being attacked by other parties, very unfair. I think if we want to place a restriction on us, you should place a restriction on everyone else or nobody at all. We have always followed rules, but now we are being punished for something we are not even sure of.
If we could please get some clarification on this ban, and also this Restriction, it would be very appreciated.

Squig, I don't think you realize the extent to which the Southern Coalition has raided. It's constant.

Exactly. If we're the only ones with it It's stupid I mean *Sudden raid from enemys * * Can we raid the people who just attacked us
Not to mention most of the people we are against have a large amount of the active mods on their side xD So it's confusing.

Party never said something close to that. He never even hinted on a yes, yet you were at bowser's town almost immediately.
There is a reason why the restriction has only been placed on the SC. You guys are turning Kiwike into your own little PvP fest. I have never seen any character interactions, lore or something similar coming from you, NLewis or Pwol, and I doubt there has been much. You are pretty much enemies with everyone you have met and I don't really see what you're planning to do with your characters at all.
We placed the restriction on you so you perhaps would turn to other, more peaceful activities that don't upset other players. It seems like that reasoning didn't really work though.
I'll leave this open for further discussion.
Edit: And believe it or not, a majority of the staff would be biased at this point

And Yotta , I don't know. But you seriously can't ban me for a week just for that , I was attacked by something - Turned around and saw bowser and Im like? What. No. And I killed him How difficult is that to comprehend? That's an obvious mistake then.

Asking 4 mods before? Well for first there was only 3 mods online at that point.. Those being partyars,Sirsuba and I. Though no one received the message but partyars..

I don't think that you should be unbanned. As yotta said, you completely went against the point of the restriction. Rather than turning to more useful endeavors, you sit around twiddling your thumbs until you become too impatient to keep yourself from raiding. Hopefully this ban serves as a reminder that we are an RP server, and PVP is not the only thing that anyone should be doing. There is a certain point where PVP is no longer RP. You have enough resources, yet you constantly raid. The Sunbeards no longer endorse your behavior, and yet you still raid. You have taken away everything you possibly can from the victims of your raiding, and yet you still raid. We have to draw a line somewhere.
Next time, just be completely sure you're allowed to be raiding.

If bowser did indeed hit Giratina first, I honestly don't see the problem.
I realize there are restrictions on the raiding (ridiculously one-sided as they are) but bowser's towns and allies have attacked them back several times now - does that not give any reason to raid further?
I understand he raids a lot, but this is a sad ban for a character that lives to fight - is this really the direction we want to go as a server? :/
