NLewis - Ban Appeal - NLewis - 05-21-2012

I was ban for using an unauthorised client mod, "Minecraft control pack", here is the link to the mod : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/355537-125-controlpack-autosneakrunautotoolsmartfurnacelookbehindlots-more-v50/

It has features such as "Toggle Sneak", "Auto Run", "Look Behind", and "Auto Weapon Select".

I was not aware that this mod was not allowed to be used on Kiwike. Here is what the rules say :

Code:
3.2) Client Mods

In general, client mods that give you an unfair advantage (Finding hidden things and players, duplicating items, etc.) are not allowed.

Such mods include x-ray, night vision, and mob locators. Mini-maps are allowed. To be on the safe side visit the forums where we have a topic about which mods are ok, and which are not ok. Questions can be asked here as well. Topic is found here

I have none of those items listed which are banned and the "Topic" is nowhere to be found. There is no link to any topic explaining the allowed mods. I was not able to find the topic on the forums either.

There are no features in the "Control Pack" that give me an unfair advantage, and I find it absurd that I am getting permabanned for something like this.

Please, can we just make this a normal ban appeal without someone coming in and flaming?

I wasn't flaming they just took a guess that your ban appeal would say you didn't know you weren't allowed use this cause you have no other argument xD

Thank you for that, perhaps that should be linked to in the rules?

I was not aware that list existed.

Looked pretty hard there NLewis. It's clearly stickied on the Server Discussion.

geckosquid also supported that this pack wasn't against the rules.

The pack is hardly using unfair hacks to give an advantage - it's almost an equivalent of spout in some regards. The pack in general specializes in key-binding (not illegal as far as I know), and minor conveniences that don't actually give an advantage over other players.

The thing is, i shouldn't have to search the entire forums when I am playing on a server. I read the rules at the start of revamped and didn't even know there was a list of approved mods. It should be directly in the rules.
