Well. Since it seems the majority of the server is going to be working on the new map and will surly be playing there, why don't we unban everybody on the Revamped list?
Think about it. The majority of the people will will remain on Revamped would love to see those players back, those that dont like them wont be playing on the map much anymore to really care. So, why not?
I want it, it would atleast add something for us revamped players to do.

I agree. This suggestion has been put forward too many times by such a range of community members to ignore.
While this has been argued for, and has many possible benefits - there are absolutely no risks. There is nothing that can be done to permanently damage a Minecraft server, besides inactivity; which surely would not be caused by players wishing to rejoin.
If any griefing, x-raying, hacking or abuse is found - surely it can be dealt with and solved again.
Those who wish to rejoin should be able to reapply with a clean slate.
Also, to support the community's emphasis and contradict the reasoning of permanent punishment - in previous suggestions, the majority had voted both for a near identical suggestion as this, and to officially change the way the staff moderates in order to solve the situation instead of enforcing via punishment solely.

I think you forgot about the part with a community driven economy being completely ruined by some guy duplicating stacks of gold blocks.

I don't recall any economy being ruined.. It's not like plot claiming with territories doesn't murder inflation. Also, I was under the impression duplicating was now impossible (from the bukkit fix, and removal of kiwiships).
