ChRiStmas - Android - 12-24-2010 So apparently tommorow is Christmas and I was wondering what everyone go celebrates it is asking for. I ad getting a dazzle capture card to kick off my YouTube channel with Black Ops gameplay and a few other things. I would also like to thanks the admins and mods for adding an off topic forum as I suggested even if they planned to make one anyway. Re: ChRiStmas - yottabyte - 12-24-2010 In Sweden we celebrate Christmas the 24th. I got a 16GB microSDHC for my phone and 4GB more RAM for my computer ![]() ![]() Re: ChRiStmas - Android - 12-25-2010 Do you know why they celebrate on the 24th? I'm interested to find out. Re: ChRiStmas - stern23 - 12-26-2010 I got the Logitech Revue Google TV set-top box. It's pretty freaking amazing. Re: ChRiStmas - Android - 12-26-2010 What is it exactly? Re: ChRiStmas - stern23 - 12-26-2010 It adds an overlay to your whole TV experience. While you're watching something, you can hit a button and shrink the picture to surf the web at the same time. It runs on Android 2.2 so it is Flash compatible, and therefore, gives you pretty much the full web experience. My DirecTV receiver connects to it and then it connects to the TV. It also works with my AV receiver, so it can control everything you have connected to your home theater. It also has a bunch of apps you can get for it. For example, I got a Netflix app that allows me to queue and stream movies right through it. You can use Pandora and a bunch of other really popular apps through it. One of the coolest things it does is, when you're watching TV and see a show that you like, hit the Search button. It then brings up a list of related shows on your TV service provider and websites and videos associated with it. Also, through it, I can control my whole home theater with my Motorola Droid or iPod Touch. So, as I summarized in my post above, it's freaking amazing. EDIT: In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a gadget whore. Re: ChRiStmas - Android - 12-26-2010 I think I heard about that before. sounds awesome. Is it the one that comes with the keyboard/remote thing? Re: ChRiStmas - stern23 - 12-26-2010 Yeah, it comes with a keyboard that has a really nice touch pad mouse on it. The whole thing is really well laid out. They did a great job designing it. You can also buy a keyboard that's a bit bigger than an X-Box controller. I don't see the point since I can use my phone or iPod, but it's still pretty cool. Re: ChRiStmas - yottabyte - 12-26-2010 Oh yes, I want a Google TV! Too bad it's US only for now. Sounds awesome ![]() Why we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve... good question lol. Instead of having santa come during the night, he comes sometime around 6 PM (he as in someone who dresses as him) and hands out presents to the people. No idea why, it's just how we celebrate it here ![]() Re: ChRiStmas - Android - 12-26-2010 Sounds pretty neat. A nice way to change things up. |
