Valuable Blocks? - asdfasdflkjty911 - 06-13-2011
So i was wanting to place a few iron blocks and maybe 2 diamond blocks some where, but I know they could be potentionaly stolen. I was wondering if its allowed to take these blocks, even in a city. It isnt really griefing, as they are valuable and they are only taking them for what they are, not to cause harm. Is that allowed?

Well, Last i recalled, This was one of the main topics in the Rule thread by Kubrick.
(Which Android or Yotta should post.)
I had a huge discussion with Kubrick about this, and he said that all valuable mineral blocks, such as Diamond, Iron, and Gold, can be broken and stolen.
He did say that was in the thread, but since that thread has yet to be published, and we are going by the game rules, i would suggest not to place them, just in case.

Yea, I remember coming up with a rule like that in collaboration with yottabyte. More will come with the actual rules which we're settling out now but basically, it went something along the lines of "the stealing of valuable metals used as decor anywhere and everywhere is perfectly legal".

As I told asdf in a PM:
Stealing all kind of ore blocks is legal. (As in removing from a building) It's hard to say what is decoration and what isn't so we decided to make it completely legal. I think the android's lack of hdd space failed a bit.
I've been working on the extended rules, they will be done soon.
Edit: Added that to the MoTD to make sure everyone are aware.
