The Nomad Wars is a series of raids between Promethia (Ageos, formerly Darkwood, Eon, and Luca) and Solitude, the Sunbeards (which became the now defunct Southern Coalition), The Vermilion Dominion, Inkscale and Cell, and the Northern Alliance. It began on April 2nd, 2012

Events leading to the war

A small company of nomads, including two dwarves, a man of the wild, and several other miscellaneous companions, had discovered the location of a town known then as Amberwood. Initially, the band simply stole what was needed to survive, rarely searching deeper than the public food supply for resources. Eventually, their lurking and somewhat intimidating presence was discovered by the townsfolk who sought to be rid of them. The first violent actions being the theft began to further escalate. The group of nomads, who had a history as fighters jumped at their chance for riches. They openly raided Amberwood, and its supporting towns, one small skirmish at a time purely for the sake of gaining gaining wealth and harming the citizens. Eventually, a brother of the raiding dwarves stepped in to quell the conflict. Ronguor, as was his name, met with Coras and Lok-Zur to help solve the conflict. It was discovered that Leonardo West, the wild man, had initially started the conflict. Ronguor had knowledge of the location of one of Leonardo's hideouts, and agreed to show Coras and company its location in exchange for peace and a sum of gold. Upon arriving at this hideout, Coras and his soldiers betrayed and attacked Ronguor. It would later be discovered that Leonardo coincidentally was found sneaking around Amberwood.

Directly after this dispute, the smalls raids strengthened and became more frequent. Lok-Zur himself apparently abandoned Amberwood, leaving mayorship to the incompetent Nut Wolfbane, and thereon the title had been passed dow many times.

Ronguor, outraged by his betrayal, amassed a fighting force of all he knew would fight with him in the land of Kiwike. He gathered the warriors of the Northern Alliance, who were his allies and already had a strong dislike for Coras, the forces following King Asdf, and even the companionship of Inkscale and Cell.

Notable Events

The Nomad Wars wars officially began with the overnight siege of Luca, the capital of Promethia by the force Ronguor had banded together. Though Lok-Zur had defaulted to the Northern Alliance after abandoning his town, it is believed he tipped off Coras about the coming attack as a final testament to his disloyal character. Upon arriving, the massive host found the town deserted, with only Coras standing on his balcony unarmed. Ronguor is noted to have stabbed Coras, but he survived to hear the shouts and condemnation of those who called themselves his enemies. As the group of towns was apparently evacuated, the fighting force took the chance to pillage and search for all loot or valuables that may have been locked away in houses. Soon enough, those living in the towns being raided who were brave enough to stand up to the host, ran in fighting back left and right. Though the defence of the towns was a valiant effort on the part of the civilians, they were eventually destroyed as well. At the end of the raid, the town had been strip searched for all loot.

The attacks on the towns continued, though never in quite the size or grandeur of the initial onslaught. At a certain point, the town of Amberwood was renamed Darkwood to symbolize the contempt held towards the traitor Lok-Zur, and was eventually abandoned by all its civilians.

Ronguor once again stepped in to look for peace, having grown tired of the violence he initially tended to. After striking a deal with Coras, a treaty was made to bring an end to the fighting. However, on two occasions it must be noted that raids were committed by part of the initial nomad group, having not heard of the peace treaty. This was quickly corrected and resolved, leading to a short calm in the land.

During this time, a man new to the land, by the name of Wolby, entered Luca and demanded valuables from Coras, challenging him to a duel. Coras' advisor, Mephisto, jumped in on the fight, leading to Wolby's defeat.

Weeks later, Ronguor came into the company of Wolby and his friend Lewis, who seemed to seek to intimidate the citizens of Luca and Ageos. The two were the founders of the town of Solitude, a town whos members had already stolen and killed members from Promethia. While travelling with Wolby, Ronguor decided it would be good to introduce his new friends to the then peaceful land of Promethia. However, upon entry the two were halted and interrogated about Wolby's past and current presence in the town. Coras permitted the two into the territory as Ronguor vouched for Wolby. The two carried out to tour the town, socializing with many civilians during their stay.

Then apparently due to their past conflict, Mephisto asked them to leave. Ronguor tried to explain that they had committed no wrong, but Mephisto demanded several times, continuously becoming more vehement. At some point during the debate, Lewis arrived late. Ronguor then decided it would be best to leave the town, as to avoid further conflict. While leaving the town, they were run after and pushed out by a company under the influence of Mephisto. Lewis, being paranoid and prone to violence, attacked Mephisto. A brawl then ensued between the three travellers and Mephisto's company on the edge of the territory. Ronguor managed to escape with only a few scrapes, but almost all others involved were greatly injured. Whereas the nation of Promethia believe to this day that Lewis was in the wrong due to his violent assault in the town of Luca, many others consider Mephisto to have broken the peace through his expulsion of Ronguor and those he vouched for.

Ronguor, soon after, met Coras and Mephisto in Luca and proposed peace again, and apologized for the rashness of Lewis. The peace proposed was under the condition that the peace be sworn publicly, and that any breakages by the leaders of the factions would have broken their honour. Coras and Mephisto refused, accusing Ronguor of having a hidden agenda, insulting him, and threatening him not to return to the lands.

After drawing the fighters of Solitude into the fight, in what may be considered the most controversial event of the war, Wolby and Lewis dedicated their efforts towards bringing down Coras and Mephisto in whatever way possible. For the next several weeks, Solitude was at open war with Promethia, moreso even than the the forces of the three Sunbeards and their supporters.

The Formation of the Southern Coalition

After a certain amount of time the raids had come to a general standstill, with the lands of Promethia being depleted of almost all riches and resources. At an unknown point, a conflict had arisen between the forces of the nomadic Allies, and the nation of the Vermillion Dominion.

For a small while the attention of the raids were diverted to the currently rich and modern town of Hyperion. Again, at an unknown point for an unknown reason, the leader of Hyperion, King Asdf, and most of the influential citizens of the city disappeared mysteriously. Having no great foe to stand against them, an allied raiding party consisting of two of the Sunbeards, Ari and Skuld, Leonardo West and a companion of his, Octavian Ranges, Lewis, Wolby, Inkscale, and Cell claimed the town for themselves. However, as the raiding party at the time consisted of many different warriors from allied, yet separate factions, they found the only formal way to split the territory evenly was to form a new elite fighter faction through which to run the town and actively raid elsewhere. This faction was named the Southern Coalition in semblance to the then great Northern Alliance.

The most notable exception of this group was Ronguor, who did not often take part in violence himself, yet remained a singular entity and an supporting ally of this new band. The Southern Coalition continued to fight against Coras and his citizens for weeks, eventually stripping Promethia's towns to less than the bare necessities. It was at this time that both Leonardo West, and Cell believed they had utterly defeated Coras. However, the majority of the group wished to continue fighting. The two separately left the Southern Alliance one after another, striking a critical blow to the moral of the band. Inkscale, too, lessened his involvement in the Southern Alliance over time, but did not officially leave the group up until its final separation.

The remainder of the group hunted down Leonardo, who they eventually found seeking refuge with the Elves of Eil. A demand for payment with precious resources was demanded of Leonardo for his betrayal, and in return the Southern Coalition would not involve the Elves. After the demand was met, and the Southern Coalition members invited to the great World Tree for some talk, they proceeded to assault Leonardo and members of the Elven settlement, for the Elves' supposed alliance with Coras' nation. In doing so, Elves of Eil were brought into the war.

As the Southern Alliance continued to ruin the image of the faction Ronguor was building, through unjustified violence and arrogance, Ronguor gave up in his attempts to stabilize the growing violence of his friends. He then officially disconnected himself from the group, isolating himself at the Temple of Solis for the most part of the rest of the War.

Solitude Peace Conference

As the Southern Coalition continued its strive to destroy Promethia, the raids were held very constant and the moral of the nation's civilians was at an all time low. The band had moved into Lewis and Wolby's town of Solitude. Eventually, having all but official victory over the towns they pillaged, the leaders of Solitude announced a peace conference would be held in the grand courts of the town hall.

Much of the numerous population of the land attended the conference, and the court was packed tight. Extra, unexpected security was strategically set up in the courtroom to maintain order throughout the proceeding. Coras, Aloysius Leech, Godfrey, and other notable members of Promethia had taken their seats in the frontmost aisles, while Wolby and Lewis sat upon their thrones. Lewis and Wolby began with their demands of tribute, as their only condition for peace, with the threat of further war. Coras blatantly refused, sparking much argument over the necessity of peace. Leech was noted to have been shouting back at Lewis and Wolby, as well as causing a temporary uproar, much to the opposite of his previous attitude toward the conflict. Amongst the quickly boiling crowd, Inkscale, who was subtly waiting in attendance, yelled out 'Go!', causing a large panic in the courtroom. This quickly turned into a riot, which successfully ended all talks of peace. The warriors of Solitude, outraged at the debauchery made of the meeting, threw potions of harm and poison upon the crowds, effectively catching many audience members off guard. Many members in attendance rushed to the back of the courtroom, only to find that the doors had been locked to prevent unexpected interruptions. Solitude then set out to expel the escaping rioters from their lands, with utmost violence.

Later that day, forces of Promethia, Rahon, and even the Elves of Eil attempted a siege upon Solitude, in revenge for the violence that occurred. The civilians of Solitude were caught unaware at first, but quickly regrouped and drove the large band of raiders from their town.

End of the Nomad Wars

Raids continued upon Promethia, with little response afterward, up until the eventual abandonment of Solitude by Lewis and Wolby, for which the reason is still unknown. After which they the two leaders have not been seen, leaving many civilians of Solitude to disband or reform New Solitude. Promethia and many of its allies have a further continuous conflict with the faction of New Solitude, but the separation of the last members of the initial band of nomads and raiders marked the end of the true conflict held against Promethia.
