General Background Information

Marvin was an aged robot. All he can remember of his birth was fire,steam, bronze and what appeared to be small men with beards. After that Marvin could recall nothing. What he presumed as years later he pulled himself out a mound of dirt. Having a strange craving for killing Marvin set out on a quest to become a bounty. Due to his hard shell and determination Marvin became one of the most successful bounty hunters in all of Kiwike, because of his years of training in hiding. He had taken out 22 people, and today he was preparing for a 23rd. This client was offering 1800 gold nuggets just to take out some nobody in a small shanty town. As the town came over the horizon, Marvin was confused by what he saw, or didn't see. The town had no people. He ignored it and walked into the saloon where his target was said to often be found. Walking in, everything looked clean and new, but the only person he saw was his target. The man was passed out on the table, clearly having one too many drinks. He walked up behind the man, and slashed a sword through his target's neck. His head flew off in a shower of white wool. It covered the sounds of people leaving their hiding places and drawing their bows. It had been a trap. Marvin looked around, and saw at least 15 people around him. He recognized them as other bounty hunters and relatives of those he killed over the years. He knew he couldn't fight him, he turned around, and saw 3 more by the door. He sprints, and two steps before reaching them, he leaps over the people guarding the door, sticking his sword through the skull of the man in the middle on the way out. As he runs out of town, he hears the sound of arrows hitting the ground behind him, seeing one fly past his head. He just keeps running. Soon, the sound of arrows is joined by the sound of footsteps. They were gaining on him, and would catch him quite soon. But, he kept running. He was thinking of witty last words when he passes a man sitting on a rock dressed in a fine white suit. But, he stops when he feels a great rumbling from behind him, He turns to see a ravine forming between him and his pursuers. The mob look at the ravine, trying to find ways past it, when zombies begin rising out of it. He noticed the suited man moving his fingers in coordination with the zombies, almost as if he were controlling them. The zombies tore into his pursuers, killing them nearly instantly. Their numbers dwindled and faded, and when they were all gone, the ravine disappeared, and the zombies faded into dust. Marvin walked over to the man, and asks, "Why did you save me?" The robed man replied "I saw something inside you, not the coal. Something deeper than physical form. My name is Mephisto Pheles." He held out his hand. Marvin lifted his rusted hand and shook the old man's.
