Christmas build - andy66252 - 12-02-2011 Well I asked for nothing but money this Christmas. With the money i plan on building a new computer. Or any idea if all the sockets and such seem to line up? RE: Christmas build - Ian25 - 12-02-2011 I'm using Newegg too! ![]() Ok so I don't know too much but definitely look to make sure the CPU has the same socket type as the motherboard. I checked and they are compatible. They are both AM3 sockets. For some more reference I did some searches on reddit and found this basic guide just to kinda double-check. But definitely go to http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc, browse around and look at some common mistakes to make sure you don't do the same. And, if you want when your ready to buy all the parts, make a "[Build Ready]" post. You can put all your hardware in it and people will look at it and tell you if they see anything that isn't compatible. You'll also be able to change it to "[Build Help]" if you need help building, and other tags. Hope I helped and feel free to ask me any questions and if I don't know it I'll look it up. ![]() and cell, in case he was watching the thread I just wanted him to know I was going to reply because I had to go eat dinner. RE: Christmas build - Cell - 12-02-2011 Ian, why do you keep reserving posts? Why not just type it and then post it? As for the computer. I don't know much yet, i'm taking computer engineering next year. When I do that, i'll probably due what you did and ask for money to build one. As for the prices, just check a few sites. Newegg, Ebay, Amazon. Those usually vary in prices. RE: Christmas build - andy66252 - 12-02-2011 yeah i used newegg for the build RE: Christmas build - Cell - 12-02-2011 Ahh, Alright. RE: Christmas build - Sir Prize - 12-02-2011 Enough correcting and more helping. I'll take a look at your computer build when I have access to a computer. ![]() RE: Christmas build - yottabyte - 12-02-2011 Ah, newegg. How I'm so jealous of your cheap american prices. |
