Isn`t that just an ivy bridge i5, so that would mean that his is better. There is very little advantage of sandy bridge over ivy bridge when you have a dedicated graphics card. So pfff to you my good friend! :3 Gecko, your next step is to get a watercooling system and overclock that beast to 5.2 GHz! Then this so called bottlenecking that you have experienced will be laughed at. MUAHAHAHAHA!!! There are a TON of reported issues with the Z77, and it's more expensive. I'd rather have the increased clocking ability of the 2700k, too. RE: Computer underperforming - guthriearmstrong - 09-12-2012 It's a cooling issue. Put it in the bathtub with a towelection over it, and run the water over the cpu to help it cool. Don't forget fish. RE: Computer underperforming - geckosquid - 09-12-2012 Hm? What's a cooling issue? RE: Computer underperforming - bvcxzmn - 09-12-2012 (09-12-2012, 04:57)guthriearmstrong Wrote: It's a cooling issue. RE: Computer underperforming - yottabyte - 09-12-2012 Depends on what numbers you look at. The ivy bridge architecture does more calculations per tick so it doesn't need the higher clock speeds. Also look at performance charts for games. The 3570k is either faster or equally fast. The 3570k, however, is locked at 3.9ghz. Also, Ivy Bridge-compatible motherboards are more expensive. RE: Computer underperforming - yottabyte - 09-12-2012 The K at the end means it's unlocked, silly gecker. Also, Z77 are in general about the same price as Z68. My ASRock Extreme4 was cheaper than the asus z68 motherboards. Moral of story, they're both much better than any AMD CPU.
