Blood and splinters...
A bloodied clearly malnourished and dehydrated man walks to the very edge of the land that it's people call Kiwike. Under normal circumstances, the man might of smiled, enjoyed coming back to the land he now calls home. He might of sat down, pulled out some wild apples he had found earlier and had a snack. It was a beautiful day, why not? The man could've sat and pondered about what he has done in this world, he could have come up with some life changing epiphany that would change his outlook on the world...

but that man is not this one...

This man shambled across the border, the thought that he was home didn't even cross his mind. He did not feel the pleasant breeze that blew through his long black hair, for that hair was caked with dried blood. He did not feel the cool grass beneath his feet, for his heels and soles were burned a dark red. He did not feel happy to be back, because this man could never be happy again. HE got down on his knees, and for the what must have been the hundredth time in the past few weeks, Cried....

The Journey was a pleasant one. Thornax Longstride always enjoyed a journey. It was all he did after all, being a warder meant never staying at home for long. He was glad to be leaving this time, however, he was heading home, to his town of Two Rivers. His town was under attack when he left it last. and recently he recieved a letter asking him to visit. He relished the oppurtunity. and immediately packed up and set off.
The journey was an easy one. there was no harsh terrain between Kiwike and Two rivers. and there were even a few villages of Monks ((Testificates)) along the way that let him borrow some wheat. HE often slept under the stars, with no fear of monsters murdering him in his sleep, for there simply were no monsters in these lands. He finally felt at rest.

Than, one day, while thornax was traversing a rather tricksy hill, he caught a whiff of a smell, he had not smelt it for a long time, and the very registering of it in his brain made him go numb... "Orcs..." he said to himself. Immediately he set off running. HE ran for what seemed like hours until he crested a hill, and than he could only stare...

The town was gone... there was no other word for it. Thornax could not tell where anything used to be, for all he knew this could have been some random spot if not for the familier surroundings. The places where the buildings used to be where now just plain dirt and the beautiful gardens and farms had been trampled, and now only looked to be weeds.
Than he saw the square, No man would be as demented as this, but than again Orcs were no men.
The citizens had been skinned, and nailed to posts. The smell of blood and rot crawled into Thornax's nostrils. He could do nothing but walk around and look at the massacre. He saw the mangled bodies of Lodin what he thought was Lodin the blacksmith, Carnell The healer, and the old body of Thomas lyeraker the town mayor.
Thornax had to turn away, he could not bear to see anymore of the carnage. When he looked down he saw the blood, whatever creatures did this did it recently, for the blood hadn't even had a chance to soak into the ground. His boots were soaked through, and the bottoms of his leathers were getting stained. though he did not care. He fealt nothing but dread. He than heard something, a faint whisper from a thicket nearby,
"help..."
Thornax ran, as fast as his legs could carry him, to the thicket. That's where he found her, Mary, the one that he loved. The one who someday he had hoped to marry, was among the leaves. Her arms were cut beyond belief. and her legs were badly bruised in many places. She had many small cuts all over from her being in the thicket. and when he took hold of her, she winced in an obvious Pain,
"what terrible creature has done this to Two Rivers mary? WHAT COULD HAVE DONE THIS! ANSWER ME MARY PLEASE!"
But she was already gone. passed on from this world of the damned and the innocent into the next. where the halls of The Eight-Pointed star were always filled, and brimming with the best meat and mead in the whole two worlds.
Thornax lay there, lay there and wept for what must have been days. Thornax did not care however, he could not care about anything again. All that he had ever cared about had been brutally torn to shreds and put up on display for all those who live under this sun to see! HE did not feel sadness, only dread. He received a letter before he got to Two Rivers, A grand Kiwike summit was being held. and he had to attend. He could not let Geod down. He set off after giving Mary a proper burial. He had neither the time, or the stomach to bury the others, he merely said his prayers and moved on.
He was walking for days at a time. Never resting, never tiring, HE had no home to go back to now, and so he had nowhere to go. At the first town he came upon he requested the towns best runner to be brought forth to him. HE paid the man all the money he had on him, which was alot as he was planning to come bearing gifts and tales of grand adventures to his home. he Killed the Innkeep as he left the building, and handed the boy the letters. They stated what had been done to his home. and he sent them out to all the people he could think of.
"run until your little heart stops beating or I'll personally see that I have it on my shelf."
The boy ran. and Thornax kept on walking... walking into what was going to become the very seven circles of hell reincarnate...

((there is a song that should be played while you read this. thought it would keep the mood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBFOrek0HcM ))
