Re: Realism
I agree to what you guys have been talking about. I think nsanexer need to work on some stuff first though. Maybe like a certain cost per block claimed with the realms system? And I think it's still kinda blurry who would claim the land in the middle of nowhere, if the guy who lives there can't do it. Why would the other player be able to do it but not him?

I think mods should be able to  set large town areas and then the "mayor" can expand it and make small realms within it.

Re: Realism
I'm with you on that last point yotta. I have a huge plan for Droidopolis and it includes rentable plots protected by the inner walls. Also, I plan to have a grid kind of thing with a bunch of plots. Then, the citizens could buy these and do whatever they like with them.

Re: Realism
I see what you're saying, yotta. I suppose if you build in the wilds, you're pretty much on your own.

I like the idea of admins setting a starting size for each town. Maybe we should have a list of requirements for a city to reach the next size. Such as, to get your town protection, you need to have a town square. That would make it easiest for admins to place the protection. The main layout of the city would still be up to the denizens of the cities. For rank two, you need a market or some kind of monument, and so on. I think this would give our cities a feel of order.

When you feel you meet the requirements, contact a mod and have them inspect your city. If you pass, they can set the new city radius. Then, you get to pay to expand , like you were saying. Mayors/ officers would be able to set and remove protections inside this area, but nowhere else. Maybe even let the mayor and/ or council decide who they want to give that right to. Such as someone that is an important builder in the city, but not necessarily an officer. Well, reading it now, I suppose that is kind of making them an officer. Whatever.

One last thing, I think if you pay to expand a block, you should control every block under it and all the way up to the top of the sky. Paying for blocks of depth would get ungodly expensive. Just set the surface block at a pretty high price and give control over everything above and below.

Okay, I'm done spewing out what's in my brain. For now at least. I reserve the right to change or deny my insane rantings.
