A letter to the Roadbuilders
*A letter can be seen fluttering in the wind on a notice board in Mavenholm. It is fastened in place by an old, rusty nail..*
Dear Kubrick,
Many, many moons have passed since the day we last met. I believe it was when the city of Eyvind was just beginning to flourish. Although the circumstances were not the best, I did manage to learn of what you did and the environment in which you lived.
After the fall of the Vikings, I had no shelter, no food and no companions. I spent a long, long time in the harsh lands of the Kiwike wilderness, living off scraps and sheltering in caves. They were tough times indeed. After weeks of travelling, I finally found civilisation. I was so desperate for food that I resorted to stealing, something which I am not proud of. After fleeing the city, I followed the road to Mavenholm, where I spent a week in a local Inn.
Many travellers came to the Inn, and all had exciting stories to tell. However, one story caught my attention the most. It was news that the Master Roadbuilder was scheduled to visit Mavenholm very shortly. I realised that after months of being a nobody, my oppertunity to become somebody again had arrived. I want to become a Roadbuilder!
I will check this noticeboard every day, eagerly awaiting your reply,
Until we meet again,
ShadySteve.
