Character Name: Captain Vick

General Background Information: Captain Vick had long been highly-esteemed for his great voyages in the sky - the great airships of his kingdom were no stranger to him. Some attributed his skill as a captain to the lingering elf-blood of his ancestry, and the magic properties that come with such, but not a soul had every seen anything but pure knowledge and skill fulfill his journeys. Whenever the rather peaceful government or high-influence town members needed a job done, Captain Vick was the man to turn to, eventually gaining a ship grant based off his quick, smooth endeavours. Within years, he had acquired the largest, most grand ship the sky docks of his nation had ever seen. The Nightmaker was a true marvel, with a hull so large it blocked out the sun (hence its name), and trim of obsidian and gold sheets crafted into intricate and intimidating designs.

On the maiden voyage of the Nightmaker, all was going as planned. The course the Captain had charted was right on track when it started to storm. Normally storms were not even near a problem for the small ships of this kingdom, as strong, precise manoeuvres could revert the ships to their regular course. However, with the Nightmaker, nobody had even bothered to worry about storms due to its grand build.

Inexplicably, a stroke of lightning landed perfectly on the golden trellis above the main deck, and setting the wooden frame of the ship alight on all sides it touched. Just then, as if by cue of some ill-meaning deity, the rain stopped. The fire spread through the wood, which had only been slightly dampened in the short storm. The resulting smoke soon consumed the majority of the ship, inside and out suffocating many a crew member. Captain Vick, coughing himself silly, still managed to stay at the wheel of the ship whilst attempting to steer it towards a safe landing spot. In his last moments conscious, he noticed a large bay nearby and turned the ship in its immediate direction.

He awoke to find pieces of wood and trim scattered across an unfamiliar shore, himself splayed across the steering wheel of the ship, now half wedged under a large boulder. He saw nothing of the battered crew, or the main part of the ship. Assuming everything he knew was burned and drowned, and that the technology to build a ship and fly home was far off in this foreign land, he set to make the best of his misfortune.

Physical Condition/Description (what do they look like, what do they wear, all physical elements of a character): A young man, coloured and strong from regular journeys, a blue scarf , wearing a blue and gold captain's suit.

What is your character's main objective? What do they wish to gain out of this experience of living?: To build a new ship, and to explore this new land.
