Forgotten Legacy
((I haven't played Minecraft in a while, which inspired this alteration of my character.))

It was dark. The kind of dark that makes you feel as if you're in a hopeless void, where neither time nor anything physical exist. It made me want to go back to sleep.

No, fool! Who knows when you'll awake again? Focus!

I could make out a grayish texture. After a bit of pondering, I came to the conclusion that I was observing a stone wall from a rather close distance.

Is it even worth turning around? You were having such fascinating dreams about a place where not all is cube...

My eyes started to drift close once more, when the world suddenly flickered. Curiosity took hold, and I spun around to see a torch.

Perhaps it's finally burning out? No, that's completely illogical; since when have torches ran out of fuel?

No longer interested, I examined my surroundings. I appeared to be in a long mining passage ending in fog both ways. Its vastness and the hard work that would be required to escape made me want to go back to my slumber, once again.

Maybe you should check your inventory...

My circumstances suddenly seemed a bit better: I was in possession of a full set of armor, various tools, and plenty of bread.

Some survival instinct kicked in, and I began to dig up, yearning for sunlight. After methodically doing so for a while, water poured into the small stairway I had created. Swimming up, I found myself in the middle of an ocean. Going back to sleep felt like a good idea again.

Don't give up, you wimp. Swim!

I traveled tirelessly in the only reasonable direction there is in an expanse: forward.

I felt like a better mode of transportation existed and was somewhat frustrated I wasn't utilizing it; fuzzy memories of airships crossing bodies of water in minutes filled my head.

Eventually, I found myself upon the shores of some fortress. It was surrounded in high cobble walls and battlements, focused on defense. It wasn't long before I came across someone, who appeared to be flattening the landscape with a single diamond shovel.

A side of me simply wanted to stab him in the back and snatch it; in fact, the need for the thrill was almost overwhelming. I had to rationalize that information, was more important.

There's a town; you went there, whenever you didn't know what to do next. There was always something there leading to an adventure... You even had a booth at the market. Stop thinking to yourself and ask about it!

"Um, hello?"

As he turned, I... recognized his face.

Memories of quickly trifling through chests, clashing swords, and a nasty arrow in the arm clouded my mind.

"Hi," he replied.

It was a while before I responded; I probably would have felt awkward if I wasn't in such nostalgia, "Do you... know the way to the village? That one with the markets and um..."

"Oh, yep, just keep following the road behind me. Er, are you ok?"

"I'm don't know," I gazed around the field surrounded in towering walls with a strange lack of houses and suddenly blurted out, "You built this place, right?"

"Of course, I did..." He said, looking at me strangely, "Listen, if you need a place to live, we need people."

For some reason, I had the suspicion that I was lucky not to be killed on sight, "But, didn't I?"

"I forgive, and the rest of the town barely remembers," a mischievous smile crossed his face.

Don't commit to anything, not until you find out more...

"I think I should go," I muttered and began wandering in the direction he pointed out.

"If you ever want to join, go to Revolt," he shouted after me before returning to his work.

The name seemed to burn in my head, making way for a sudden flashback:

I was standing on a cobble road next to a beach. The area was walled in and filled with many wooden buildings. A locked storage room seemed to have my attention, second to the three men in front of me brandishing swords.

"Hello, are you residents?" I said with as much confidence as I could fake.

One spoke, "My name is Crazy, and may I ask what you're doing in my city?"

The other men, I now recognized as guards, edged closer.

"Well, there wasn't anyone willing to give me a tour, so I decided to explore a bit, myself."

"And how did you get in?"

I knew that if I revealed that information, my current means of entry would quickly cease existence, therefore I changed the subject, "There are more important matters at hand."

"Like what?"

"Your armory is on fire."

As they took the bluff and turned to their beloved armory, I sprinted toward a tower and quickly climbed its stairway to roof.

"You'll never escape Revolt!" Someone especially ignorant shouted as I leaped into a pre made pool of water.

Several minutes later, I was standing in a desert plain with the city far behind me, clutching a couple particularly valuable items, smiling.

Coming to my senses, I realized I was standing in the same desert plain, except there was a convenient road now cutting through it. I wondered about many things as I walked: Why was there a slightly evil voice in my head? Where did I get my inventory? Did I even get that builder's name?

At some point going down the road, near the seaside, I had the urge to dig up some of the path. Sure enough, there were some tnt blocks and a bit of fancy redstone wiring under it.

It was a genius trap...

I frowned and covered it back up, as the thought crossed my mind

Eventually, I made it to the village. There were strange posters everywhere promoting nations and defiling others. It didn't take long to find out that several countries had been at war for quite a while.

I wonder if there's any profit to be found in this...

I soon came to the marketplace and found that I had a key for one of the booths.
Looking though the contents, yet another unexplained thought took form in my mind:

The iron needs to be restocked, but no one ever buys the sugar cane...

I decided to spend the night at the inn. A man named Stanley was clutching a bucket of milk and telling an oddly familiar story about how he was waiting for his friend.

Before heading to bed, I figured out in the lobby that everyone seemed to have joined nations and seldom came by anymore.

I dozed off, thinking, I don't even know my name.

((And that is my character's current position. Btw, can someone reply with a link to how nations works and the commands? I'm as confused as my character about it.))

RE: Forgotten Legacy
((Well what do you want to know? Commands are pretty much restricted to town owners and nation leaders. But if you wanted to know how to join towns or nations, there should be a couple of npc's scattered around nation capitols to help you out. Welcome back!))

((Thanks, I was just wondering if you could leave a nation after joining, if anyone can join, if they can claim from each other if at war, etc.

RE: Forgotten Legacy
((Well, there have been issues with people not being able to leave nations (believe yotta fixed it, but don't hold me to that) As for anyone joining, I think nation leaders can set whether people are instantly accepted or have to be approved. I know Enc'ela's is set so that if a person says they want to join, they're in. And finally, in wars battles will be fought over world blocks, with the victor claiming ownership. But for that we need to wait for the war plugin. Anything else?))

((I think you just have to talk to the NPC again.))
