Naam stays and does his job when he can.
We find someone to join the lore team.
Give inactive people entitlement over active people.
Entitlement? It's not like Naam is going around all like: "Hey guys, I run this shit. Alright?"
I meant in general; moderators, admins, everybody. If Naamandre was going around saying that then I wouldn't even have to bring this up. I'm sure Naam's a good guy - and a friend to any number of the population. I'm simply giving the reasons he shouldn't keep this title.

RE: Suggestion #9 - Lore Expert: Please vote or input opinion.
Mystia would have been a good choice but no she became a game mod after < 10 posts :p
Anyways it seems like the staff is too attached to naam so this is already a lost cause.

I'm sorry gecko i like you but the only thing you do is run around in chat once in awhile saying everything is broken needs to be changed. and then you run off again. The only thing of rp you did was crack down my creation lore and then create a newone. Which you have not even 1 talked to me about after, nor have you replied to my google doc sheet were i asked for idea's or some kind of explanation of the background so i could continue the worthy story.

Well, organizing RP events is kinda Naam's job though.
Remember the random events, who's job was to code that yotta? I can go about this for hours and hour. I've imputed and placed enough event, i even made a whole document for it laying out what i had planned for every age but i need builders and coders to work with me. I shape the idea's but i need other people to make it a reality.
(09-12-2012, 21:28)Crashlander04 Wrote: Sure, Naamandre has been here a long time - but the facts remain that for the vast majority of that time he hasn't contributed anything sufficient of keeping this position. Like any job; if a professor knew how to teach, was hired for that ability, and never actually taught - he wouldn't be able to keep his job.
Now crash you're putting this in the wrong aspect.
Let's stick with you're way of saying I'm a teacher. and lets say I'm capable of teaching.
But every time i come up with a new way of teaching, my boss tells me its not good and then goes to another teacher who has some of the same qualities to design my teaching schedule without even taking me into account. then when i make a presentation, the screen doesn't work. I complain to the guy who goes in charge of it but he's reluctant to fix it.
This leaves a capable teacher who can do his job maybe better then anyone else.
But is unable to do it because of the command structure and the aspect he also is depended on other people. and in effect looking like a bad teacher
Its easy to crack me down for saying i did not do anything. But what you are forgetting is. I did alot, only you're not able to see it cause of the dependency on other people i only type the words and make the idea's. I need others to help me put them in the kiwike world

I think you deserve a punch in the face for this one, Naam. Nobody - Not a single person, can deny that gecko has been far more involved in Kiwike than you ever have.

Naam, I like you too, but you're quite mistaken. I understand how it could seem that way, but I have been working really hard every day to try to keep the server afloat. I responded to the google doc a while back, and have yet to get a response. Also, we are never on at the same time. Ever.
Finally, believe it or not, there are more kinds of RP contributions than just creating lore. I crafted and maintained a character that played a pivotal role in the lives of those who surrounded me for more than a few months, sometimes in the face of utter non-RP, and remained an active member of the forum community, all while being a moderator and having to make (and oppose) some tough decisions.
Again, I like you, but I think that's more than you can say.
Love,
Gecko

Yah the google doc has been abandoned for awhile, pretty much cause i thought i never got a response from it i did not bother to check it after awhile. Our times lines are annoying but that's what PM's are for i suppose right? I mean you could've send a simple PM saying hey you havent checked the doc in awhile
Ofcourse there are more RP contributions then creating lore. (To fix loop holes afterwards and create small events are other parts) Only its not the official task of a lore-writer to play a pivotal role in the lives of those around you. Its a nice bonus if you have that luxury of time. But i simply do not. And it could've been someone-else just aswell as you who could have played that pivotal role. Its not like a lore-writer is the dedicated person to do so.
So i decided to sacrifice my ingame playing time for writing things in the background and to school aswell. Like i sayed, i can see why you would brand me as inactive due to my lack of ingame and forum time. But that being a part of the roleplay itself in-game is in my eyes a nice welcome bonus if you actually have the time to play. Not the job of a lore-writer itself

RE: Suggestion #9 - Lore Expert: Please vote or input opinion.
Then you have yet to be filled in on the nature of the potential new RP server. It requires constant, on-a-dime events that adapt to the players. The lore writing wouldn't be a static, "behind the scenes" job; it would be an involved endeavor requiring frequent collaboration between the moderators/lore writers/event creators (the same three people).
And it's hard to respect someone as a roleplayer when they call involved, incredibly important in-game RP a "nice bonus".

Gecko
