Keep old map, continue on new?
Keeping the old map would create more lag since we have hmod and plugins there.

Continuing on new map would be VANILLA, err... with the latest bukkit version and some small modifications.

Gotta get some sleep now, so I'm keeping this short. Poll ends tomorrow

Re: Keep old map, continue on new?
I would say new map, but we need a way to keep it neat and organized. Previous one was a mess with abandoned villages all over the place.

On top of that, a few of us have started building the spawn village but people actually were rude enough to steal from the donation box!

And oh, the server crashed for some weird unknown reason...It was handling 30 people pretty well...

Re: Keep old map, continue on new?
I think we should keep the new map Smiley Sure there are fond memories of the old map, and I wasn't as attached as some of you are to it, but you've been saying you were going to reset it anyway, so why wait? Why make more memoies which will just be destoryed anyway? And so far, the new server has held up pretty well (except for the crash, but 30 people-no lag is hard to hold up for a long time), I would just suggest/ask that you put in the /sethome command, else all the cities would all be by the spawn Laugh

People themselves also need to change. Why does everyone have the obsession to build their own city? People really need to STOP doing that!

Re: Keep old map, continue on new?
The only problem I have is we are not prepared.  When we where supposed to change maps we where going to have v 2.0 ready.  We planned on having everything neat but everyone has things everywhere around spawn.  If everyone wants to restart I say get all the plugins first, have a spawn area where no one could build except those that are givin the privilege to, and atleast get the basic idea of v2 out there so we know how building tows will work. And Cilph you just joined recently, and for you to say everyone is building there own cities, they have there own reasons and the freedom to do it.  It wont be a city unless it is succesful and approved.  That means 5 people have to join it.  More cities means more activity, which means more RP.  And i beleive v2 said they were adding a huge RP to v2.

Re: Keep old map, continue on new?
Yeah but still that doesnt solve the problem of Yotta has left us for the night, people have already just build random house and shacks, its pointless.  There should be a restart i agree, but atleast put a spawn protection barrier.  Like 100 blocks?

Re: Keep old map, continue on new?
I prefer to keep the old map and like Cell said we're not ready for the new one! People are all over the place on the new one and it's just going to end up the same as the last one. Buildings no one is even using all over the place and all that. It's pointless! We should just wait until 2.0.
