KiwiShip, Not working

I'm makin a KiwiShip, but it's not working.
This is how my ship looks like: (First ship, and not so much wool)

If activate a lever and right click the sign, it says:
"No direction found! Yer engine is shuting down."

How can i fix this problem?

You need a license to fly.

Simple, the levers aren't powering the signs, make a lever, then a redstone repeater, then the sign, all in a line.

You need redstone to connect it to the signs. (I recommend a repeater so that you can place them side by side). Also, make sure you have enough wool. It doesn't look like enough.
