Right, so. I just noticed this.

The Novan war rages on, everyone is against them. Who else was everyone against, in real life history?

That's right. Hitler. His intent was to dominate a large portion of the world, to make a "purer" place.
In order to do this he used tactics that no one had ever done before, because it was deemed strange.

He placed young soldiers in command of his army, to come up with revolutionary strategies in order to win the war.
And it worked damn well.
In fact, Hitler might even have won World War 2 if Brittain had not been on an island because of tactical and armoured superiority to all other countries in the world.
Hitlers greatest strength was however not his tactical superiority, but his superiority in intelligence. He was a social mastermind, he could whip up entire crowds of people, like no one has ever done before.

Now, onto Nova. They employ tactics that everyone deems unorthodox. They are mostly superior in all battles fought, because of this.
They are also whipping up crowds of people, however. They do it the other way around, they provoke us, and it works damn well on most of us.
The only thing that tells these two groups apart, is that Hitler did it with the intention of improving, they are only doing it with the intention of enjoyment.

I actually salute them for being so brilliant, what I think of how they are doing it, or for what reason are irrelevant.

Exactly, which is what Hitler did... I am only making the connections. It does not take a genius to cause this much grief, but it certainly does require you to have some amount of intelligence to make everyone mad.

it really irritates me because i tell people that "stalin and hitler may have been insane but they were some of the greatest tactical minds of all time" They start replying like "OMG YOU'RE A RACIST AND YOU'RE EVIL FOR LIKING THEM" seriously people need to get there shit strait when it comes to history.
