The big thread about 1.8

Livestream from PAX with Notch playing 1.8 for a good 50 minutes. I watched some of it and it looks absolutely amazing. It's like a whole new game.

Edit: The creative mode looks amazing. Will be so helpful in the creative world.
Also, "The oceans are reaaaally big now, with some small islands scattered. There are also huuuge continents."

Edit 2: Really big randomly generated dungeons, like the caves now. He found an abandoned mineshaft with rails in it.

Edit 3: He says 1.8 is so big, they might just release it in steps instead of doing everything at once

Edit 4: Love the new biomes, he's showing a huge plains biome. So flat. I like.

Edit 5: Rivers also usually divide biomes, so there is different biomes on either side. Awesome.

Edit 6: Endermen die when they go in water. WATER EVERYTHING!

I want it now, I want it now, I want it now... this update looks so amazing! I can only imagine though how long it will take Bukkit to get a recommended build for multiplayer.

I hope this comes out sometime within a week or so. I can't wait for the update, it looks so cool. Eventually we are all going to look back at the version we play right now and laugh because of how epic this patch is. Lol
