RE: Dwarf Fortress
You got this pineapple, I know you can make as successful a fortress as most people can. (btw, "successful" means 5 years tops)

RE: Dwarf Fortress
Give them tree bark or make them resort to cannibalism.
I totally know what I'm talking about, by the way.

RE: Dwarf Fortress
I suggest you make prepared meals and slaughter the 2 largest animals you have. prepared meals make at least 3 dwarf food portions, so *useful*
Oh, there IS a mod for cannibalism, but it's kind of like slaughtering animals...

RE: Dwarf Fortress
Actually, I excel at the use of any body of water to flood areas. You just need to engineer it right. Btw, once your dwarves have gone and claimed their workshop, if this is the same "insane" as I'm thinking, hit q and look at what the shop has going on. If it has some crazy thing about the guy in it shouting demands, make those items as fast as possible.

RE: Dwarf Fortress
So thornax and I decided to take the challenge tonight and learn how to play dwarf fortress, so we did. So far we're having a ton of fun talking on steam and giving each other advice but I have one problem, I'm trying to get my fishermen to do their job but they won't. So I check what's showing up as water using k, it just says "open space" and won't tell me anything further. I just set up a farm but am slowly decreasing in noms, please tell me what you think it is.
You wot?
