RE: Locks and lockpicks
So you want everybody to have protection, yet not good protection?

The matter of fact is that lockpicks render locks useless.

By making them unpickable when you're offline you're only causing more thefts happen when both parties are offline - causing more outright conflict.

Also, giving a 20 minute period after you leave to have the locks pickable is pointless - people won't want to log off because then everybody would race to their house and steal from them (which is exactly what would happen).

Ah. But your forgetting the fact that most people's chest's that they have valuables in will be underground or hidden away. If they are in a town, that already poses one problem. Then if they have a lock on it, that just doubles up on the protection?
I like this system so far personally. Helps protect chest's so you cant just raid someone who is asleep, etc.

Crash, the objective of this is to keep your valuables HIDDEN, not displayed in rooms in your lavish mansions you idiots. This system is so that people don't make everything untouchable until the end of time. You want full protection? Go to a different server. This is also so not every stupid new player can wander into your house and loot your chest with a lockpick, as I'm sure they'll be massively expensive. Like your vaunted VIP plots.

lockpicks won't exactly be expensive considering they're a gold hoe..

The idea of rust is stupid, 1: If the lock is indoors how would that lock be able to know? Rust doesnt just occur after a week while indoors. Even outdoors, it takes years to get to the point where it just falls off.

Although I have to say, if we required Spoutcraft it wouldnt be so bad, MOST people can get spoutcraft and the possibilities with it are great. I just got it to work and am loving it. I can switch between 1.8.2 and 1.0.0 for kiwike Laugh

Crash, why you so against everything YUNO

Let's have a look at reality then. Anyone can break into your house, at any time. Lock picking IRL isn't even very hard. Does that mean you don't put a lock on your door, since it's practically useless?

Well, IRL there are laws against doing such things, and the punishments are great.

In this server, however, stealing is only illegal among citizens in a nation. Other players can steal all they want with little to no consequence.

RE: Locks and lockpicks
And that is why we role play. Report theft to a nearby nation or something. Stop being so negative about everything...

You look at this the whole different wrong way.
There is a reason we do this. This aint no kiwike 2.0 anymore.

First off, the moment you get stolen there is no raging in OOC chat about it.
You have to roleplay to find out.

Second of all what is wrong with the system?
It allows people a chance to break in, its not much. afterall they can only pick a lock when you are online and a period of time when you are offline.
The locking process itself takes time, the getting there takes time. and i hope you got citizen of the town you are in. get the fact you do not allow a stranger in your house, when you are offline or even when you are online and surely question his motives?.

As for the small matter people started to about vip plots. I am still against them. cause this would lead people to go back to the cobbeling of there chests. Which we are currently debating of making this illegal or not. If you join this server you will have to go and learn and accept the fact you stuff might get stolen. Even with vip plot protection it got stolen from in kiwike 2.0

But still its harder then you think. Or, you are dumber then i think to hide your average stuff. sorry stuff had to be sayed.

First of all the thief has to get to the sayed town/nation and find the chest.
If they are not online when they get there they have a set amount of time before they chests get locked and remind yourself the locking process also takes time.
We want to give people a chance to steal stuff, while making it hard, and i think this system works perfectly.

Or do you people want to go back to the vip plots because it allows you to steal stuff from people who are not so lucky and hide it behind your cobble closed chest?

RE: Locks and lockpicks
Even in medieval times we were and still are capable of making lock picks that even professionals can spend hours trying to break, it is far from being realistic and fairly stupid in my opinion.
