are we pirates?

The music thread for example, there's a lot of copyrighted work in there.

He explains that according to this bill, only LINKING to copyrighted material makes the website (Kiwike) a website "dedicated to theft of US property"

For example, linking to music videos in the music thread like partyars said.

This would be a threat to all user generated websites. That means a website where people can post text (such as comments or a forum), upload pictures, videos etc.

What's even scarier is the last thing he explains. For example, if we made it so you need a password to access the Kiwike forums and we don't even have any links to copyrighted material, that wouldn't even matter! Because we are "hiding" it from them.

These bills take the old "Not guilty until proven otherwise" and turns it the other way around. It's absolutely insane.

As far as I know, even Private Messages would count for "hiding" things from them. So we would have to go through all posts being made and all private messages being sent. Now imagine websites like Facebook or Twitter having to do that. Yeah, it wouldn't work.

RE: Khan Academy explains SOPA/PIPA
This bill is unconstitutional. Its stupid because they are violating the 1st amendment which is freedom of speech. Taking down a video where Yotta is singing a pop song infringes upon that. Also as he mentioned they can suspect you and search you or your house. There violating an amendment which is the one about search and seizure(I forget which one). Plus SOPA is bullcrap. I called the Senator for my state and the congressman and they said they will say no
