RE: Removal of shop protection
How about the idea that yotta proposed but you do not have to buy the locks for the stop chest but still can be picked. That way making shops have a disadvantage as to being lockpicked but have the advantage that they do not have to have a lock placed on them and you can sell items offline. As the chest shop protection is extremely over powered and can be abused extremely easy.

RE: Removal of shop protection
This would totally destroy the economy.

People rather rob than work... Nobody will sell a diamond ever again...

In reality, there is only a small number of robbers compared to innocent & honest people.
In minecraft, this ratio is nearly one to one.

Maybe people can buy NPCs to guard their shop...?

Maybe you can only pick a shop if you have conquered the town? (AGE III)

Maybe town leaders have to regulate shop maximum based on population?
^ I don't like this one.

I'm afraid I'm not convinced with the shop picking. Shop abuse is major, though. Maybe we can prevent shop abuse by letting everyone see (but not take) what's inside a shop chest. That way, anyone could report a shop abuse. In terms of RP, it's kind of as if it's on display.

Yeah I like this idea but it would be hard to implement.

No, right click on chest. *Shop: 123 Diamonds* or if there is abuse *Shop: IronChestplate, diamondSword, etc.* EWBTE

RE: Removal of shop protection
That would not help against the abuse, seeing as the problem is that people make shops for every item and then sell the items for a reasonable, but high price. Even when shops could be viewable, this is still not against the rules so it couldn't be reported.

We still have to worry about this...
