Removal of shop protection

RE: Removal of shop protection
I'm thinking of a new system that probably will be a pain to code, but might actually work. The problem with pickable shops is that the owner can't be around them all the time (like if they are in crushcrush's marketplace for example). This means that you won't get caught as easilt when picking these.

What I suggest is some sort of shop where the items are stored in a different place than where the shop is. like a player named carl makes a chest in his basement, fills it with diamonds, and he then places a shop sign somewhere else. when people buy stuff from the shop the items they get will go out of the chest in carl's basement. This way there's less of a chance for people to actually pick the shop as the chests can be hidden the same way as normal chests.

It's also better then just adding less of a lock pick succes chance to a regular shop chest as a thief could just put his inventory full of lockpicks and pick the lock eventually.

People can still put high prices on their items but it won't matter that much since storing items in shop chest now works the same as storing them in regular locked chests.

Does this makes any sense at all? I need some sleep.

So...
You could link up your hidden chest, to your shop sign? That would awesome. But I see your point.
That would also solve the problem that was happening earlier, with someone grabbing items from a shop to turn the tables.

I like that idea of Partyars', it would organize the shops better two, you wouldnt have to worry about the chests, just getting a sign.

Also. I voted no.

Thought you should all know.

I dislike party's idea, as you could just place a hidden chest deep underground and never look at it again.

I basically had the same idea as Party, but according to Droid it wasn't realistic.

As you could do the same with regular chests.

Edit: you just don't like the idea because you would have to code it all TrollDad

I think what we should do, is make it so you can only deposit items into a shop, instead of being able to remove it. This would solve multiple problems.

Herm. Well, Connor. You should still be able to remove items somewhat :/.

RE: Removal of shop protection
Maybe you could limit the amount of shops per player or charge them to make a shop. Say you need to pay 500 gold to have a shop and 500 gold for every preceding it would definitely dissuade pointless shops.
