question about dogs?

Soo, i'm trying to put together a pack of wolves for my character, and i was wondering whats the maximum amount of wolves you can get to follow you around. Also, if you make them sit, will they stay there until you return or will they eventually follow you?

There is a maximum mob limit, but there's supposedly a way around that. Basically, you can have as many wolves as Java/space/the server permit =3

Making them sit should keep them there until you return or teleport, but I'm not sure about that.

But back on the topic of dogs; a dog will stay sitting until you right click it, take damage, or it falls in water. Also, you can get unlimited wolves to follow you, but you can only get more to spawn if you go far enough away from your wolves that the chunk they are in unloads.
