Trust me, money is not the reason Kiwike failed.

RE: Goodbye!
I know i am probably wrong on multiple fronts here, but from what i have gathered there has been a lack of incoming players and retention rate of the few new players. The more people that play the server means more and more incoming players with a higher retention rate because there are more sub-groups that each person can relate to which creates more organization, increased RP because of the organization through inter group relations and between groups. So how do you bring more long term players into a server that is struggling to get new players and having even more trouble keeping them? Well, it would be an entirely different issue if the game itself wasn't growing, but today alone minecraft sold just over 0.001% of their total PC sales and is past 20 million users throughout all systems and nearing 10 million for PC. So, what is a solution? Utilize the current system in place to bring interest to Kiwike. There are dozens of minecraft server sites that have thousands of hits everyday. If Kiwike were to be featured on multiple sites at the top of the list where every visitor would see it, then many many more new users would start joining daily and the retention rate would grow as more members stayed with Kiwike. The current and future kiwikians probably don't want their money going towards advertising for the server and donations alone are not reliable enough to depend on and that is why money more than sufficient money is necessary for kiwike to be revived and become better than ever.

RE: Goodbye!
Like gecko said, money most certainly wasn't our problem.
Also, most of what you said above was correct, but to pull something like that off we would need a team of people the size of what we currently have working full time on the server. That is the major thing that sets the servers that get tons of attention apart from the servers that are smaller and more common, the amount of time and effort the people are able to put in.

RE: Goodbye!
People put time in effort in for compensation, but this is a very hard conversation to have without you (everyone but me) not actually knowing the amount of compensation, effort needed etc.

RE: Goodbye!
*gue adventure music* We have enough people who would do it, I would help as much as I can. Just give directions, someone will cary them out.

RE: Goodbye!
Kiwike failed because of a lack of leadership. In turn, that led to many other problems, but nearly every single issue can relate back to a lack of leadership along with general boredom of Minecraft.
That is still the problem now. No one is truly dedicated like they would have been in earlier times. I'm guilty of this myself.

RE: Goodbye!
Oh thee infamous jyanowitz, do an AMA for us.
Like devil said, everything is done half assed. No one is actually dedicated to making a server work, even though they would like to make it look like they are. After shutting down the dedicated server I realized how burned out I actually am on this game and I can't play it for more than five minutes anymore. I'm sure others would feel the same if they stop bothering with trying to keep memories alive.

RE: Goodbye!
Kiwike failed because the admins listened to the players.
It's like giving a monkey a shiny self destruct button. Nuff said.
