PROTEST: High Taxes
To make a town in Kiwike is 50Gold and im ok for that but why is there a 5Gold Tax each day?

I think this Tax is way too much and it is going to stop more growth in the nations.

Since the server doesnt sell gold for goods and we have to mine it ourselves this is going to mean the gold in the ground will run out eventually, and so are the towns going to run out of funds too.

I suggest we keep the same system about the minimum members needed for a hamlet/town but only hit the town with a 5Gold Tax once it becomes a larger City.

Who is with me? We will make banners and take our protest to the gates of Mavenholm if we have to lol. Tongue

I'm with you. It's a struggle to pay for the upkeep of a town, where it should be a fun experience. Also, mining it is a real pain. This price wouldn't be so bad if we could receive gold for other items without other players buying them.

I Agree. I think maybe we should set up a shop in mavenholm for player to sell ressourses.

My 2 cents,

RE: PROTEST: High Taxes
With proper city management Taxes shouldn't be an issue. It is the price you pay for the safety and security of Town protection. If you charge your citizens each 1g a day in Taxes, than it shouldn't be a big problem. It is a bit tougher in a Hamlet because the number of people is so small. The mayor or king should do a bit more Mayor/King duties and get his people in shape!

Keep taxes!

When the war system is released your going to want to have your city coffers full, so that you can participate in the wars and reap the benefits.

It's not 5g per person it is 5g an establish city. Manage your city well and it shouldn't be a problem.

Tea Party'ers included..lol

I Agree with Kubrick to some extent.
The taxes are there, and it adds to the game.
But they also make a good point, as to, what happens when all the gold is gone?

RE: PROTEST: High Taxes
Or atleast change the taxes, so a hamlet has to pay less tax than a town.

I think that this is a great idea. Also, shop owners would go to this server shop and buy goods for their shop here this way there is a balance. Just put a set number of Gold in the Bank. However we would need to have a set price on all items, but the prices would have to be cheaper than what normal shops sell, because the stores would need to be able to make money. To establish the price in the shop in Mavenholm Would need to be decided (probably on the forum). Also the goods would be sold and bought. With a few exceptions where an item would be sold for more than it's worth. I've been rambling long enough. This is used in other servers and has worked great for them hope kiwike picks it up.

I agree with that and I also agree with that player should be able to sell resources to a NPC in order to recieve gold.

But not every resource should be sellable (does this word exist? xD) NPC could buy wheat, reed, books, iron, coal, lapis, every kind of dye, pork chops, torches ... basically everything that's not that rare but not that common as cobblestone or wood is so you have to do at least a little bit of work to earn something.
That would greatly increase trade possibilties, guilds and other things! Hunting would become a real job like mining.
