It's probably just a normal server maintenance routine, and Lulzsec are just being trolls and claiming they caused it. If they did, however, indeed do this, then I wholeheartedly agree that this is completely outrageous.

Edit: Never mind. They actually did it... Why!

My opinion on lulzsec hard drastically changed in just a couple of days. Actually hacking things like Sony bmg, us Senate is ok with me, its just proving they need better security.

What they did to minecraft.net is just ignorant. They DDOS attacked the servers which isn't hard at all with a decent botnet. Mojang is a small company and an easy victim as well. This isn't hacking, they are only doing it for the fame. Their slogan is "doing it for the lulz" which isn't the case here at all.

I read about the ddos attack on Reddit yesterday so I'm not sure how the situation has evolved.

What idiocy has this come to, what kind of stick twisted people would want to hack such a lovely company, Lulzsec can go home, minecraft is the only lifelike worthwhile playing indie game, (Dont quote me other good games)

Why would they do such a thing Even if it is just for the lulz, they can go F themselves, this is not cool, not at all

DDOS- i have seen that way to many times, there should be protection against such things, as this is ridiculous.
I RP on a game section called the nexus (TES, F3,FNV, and NEHRIM)- (Anyone else. Im HELOL) And that was DDOS hacked alot because people thought it was funny,

This sort of thing WILL happen, especially now that notch just came out saying how easily some one could do this. It doesnt matter if they have a reason for doing it, people will do it anyway. I'll be expecting more of this to come in the future.

Haha, people are always gonna attack successful businesses, or pretty much anything that has grown so much in so little time. What are they thinking? Really Im sure they just wanted fame and wanted to prove how easily it could be done. Seriously, if you run something as big as minecraft, STEP UP THE SECURITY! Thats like me running a national bank and leaving the vault open to everyone to see and touch. People are going to try something no matter what.
